  • A software engineer needs two jobs. Which means most people need at least 4. Or 3 if they live under a bridge.

  • Brits: the government has sold London's public squares to private companies so we can't protest there, they are arresting people for waving flags where they can still protest, we are against international human rights courts, but we draw the line at an id document.

  • To add to this, accept when people tell you it's fine to pronounce their name wrong. My name is very hard to pronounce if you don't speak my native language, and I prefer that people mispronounce it the "obvious" way, instead of trying to approximate it because then I have people calling me by 20 different variations, and sometimes I've no idea they are referring to me.

  • It's not necessarily classicism adjacent.

The worst openly racist reaction I witnessed personally was against a polish man that had the exact job position and general social standing as the racist asshole.

An example in the US would be how JFK still faced some anti-Irish racism despite being as close to aristocracy as possible in American society.

  • That's a very 21st Century American way of looking at racism, but yes, all people involved are white.

Then again a significant number of US Hispanics would be considered primarly white in Europe, so racism is always more complex than skin colour.

  • Works is different from works consistently across all browsers, or even versions of the same browser. I know most web developers got into their heads that only Chrome (and maybe Firefox if they are feeling generous) matters, but open source projects shouldn't incentivise this.

  • Depending on the country, and depending on the gift, yes. Though it's mostly not enforced.

  • Well the entire thing was an insult to whoever wrote Matthew 6:5. Which is a proud Christian tradition, but Americans take it a whole new level.

  • He positioned himself as a zionist but also said disturbing antisemitic crap all the time. From the few videos I watched his positions seemed to be similar to the israeli hostage families' groups but he sprinkled some actual antisemitic tropes when criticising the Israeli government.

  • Definitely 1. Is position over Israel and Palestine seems to have been all over the place. There are videos of him saying Netanyahu is lying about Gaza, and he we was firmly against Israel's attack on Iran, but then he would also say absurd stuff like there's no starvation in Gaza.

  • History preserved the names of heads of state from countries that had a much shorter existence or impact. 600 years might seem a long time to Americans but it's not that long for historical memory.

  • But then you need to use cloud services to sync with your family/roommates/etc. Not everyone lives alone.

  • Shopping list, digital post it notes, etc.

People have been sticking important things into fridge doors since there are fridges.

  • He's small fries, so he should be fine. Russia has killed plenty of people out of their territory when they are important enough for Putin to bother.

  • I'm definitely not giving credit (I was trying to explain not excuse). If anything he gets negative credit because he knows first hand the anti-Mamdani propaganda is bullshit but he's still to much of a coward to tell his more fascist-leaning donors to take a hike.

  • Schumer's owners/donors have him by the balls. Some of his public declarations got as close to an endorsement as possible without actually using the word endorsement.

  • A power that already escalated things by doing drone attacks against two NATO countries (and don't try to justify it with it was accidental, because negligence is not a defense against any crime). What happens when someone in Romania or Poland dies because of a Russian drone?

  • So, if say, Saudi Arabia's CERT tells them to block a list of reporters accounts, they will gladly do it without demanding any evidence?

  • So, in summary, Proton will block any account, without any evidence, just because a random CERT says so.
