My rough understanding (from cumtown/stav so take it with a grain of salt lol) is that the meds became more accessible to cater to boomer men (a huge demo with ED) and now that it’s fairly readily available with minimal screening, it can be accessed by the recreational market. Not to understate the benefits for people with ED, but for a recreational user it can help with other “less-physical” sexual performance issues (confidence, stamina, etc), as well as those with cardio issues which prevent arousal.
I understand the latter bit to be somewhat of a public health sticky wicket, since it could exacerbate underlying cardio issues that go undetected due to the more lax prescription process. That’s probably mitigated by age/health of rec users (compared to a boomer), but, like any drug, is cause for moderation and safe use.
I don’t know any rec users in my age demographic, but i could see messing around with it as a 20something lol (not that I’d have anything to do besides play ring toss with the fellas)
Oops I’m wrong. Lyme triggers an autoimmune response and potentially symptoms which are similar to lupus - but it’s an infectious disease, and lupus is an autoimmune disease.
Yeah the first dr. I saw didn’t believe that my symptoms were from Lyme, also didn’t give me the blood panel and just prescribed steroids (foolish move for combatting an autoimmune condition). Fortunately I could get a second opinion, and a blood panel (believe it or not - positive for Lyme!), and antibiotics before it progressed too far. I don’t have any chronic effects - but the acute symptoms of one’s muscles locking up was not fun! I know other people who didn’t catch it and it ends up being a severe long term condition similar to lupus
Jokes aside I’m begging and pleading with you to be tick aware, even if you’re “not in a place they live”. Their territory is growing with the shifting ecosystems and Lyme disease sucks, and doctors will spend time gaslighting you rather than giving you the fucking antibiotics. I’ve seen Lone Star Ticks in Illinois (southern, but still), and it’ll only get worse with vector borne diseases.
Just generally be aware of checking oneself if you’re in grass for extended periods of time (even turf). Prevention isn’t difficult, but awareness is
I’m near enough to raven territory that I get to see them somewhat regularly and it’s a real treat - they’re so beautiful, and huge! I really like their vocalizations. My favorite though is the Fish Crow. Its vocalization never fails to make me chuckle, and they’re a sign you’re near the coast!
Anyway I had the opportunity to work with a crow at a wildlife rehab, and they’re so amazing in general. I was volunteering/learning raptor handling, but this crows trick was being able to recycle. Anyway they’re smart and pretty and prevent soooo many diseases by eating dead stuff! Shout out to them all (and ofc the vultures); vastly misunderstood and under appreciated for the good that they do.
Yeah everyone else in the thread are making my point in a clearer fashion. Also I (embarrassingly) had to look up what a MOBA is lol. I stopped gaming around when LoL was getting popular, and before that was a terrible FPS player.
Now that I’m finding more time to play, I’m more drawn to retro games (GB roms) or story driven games (e.g. Gone Home) over those with incredible graphics, competition, high difficulty, etc. Which are games I consider “fun”; compared to so many other modern releases which feel more like cash-grabbing rooted in posturing (or vice versa).
