  • Most teachers will write it off as obvious. Taking a percentage of something is just multiplication and if you actually write it down with multiplication, it is, indeed, obvious:

    4*75/100=75*4/100

And yes, it means you can just multiply 75 by 4 first and then divide by 100.

  • I must inform you, the bug is very much black under the mask.

  • Sadly, I've seen one too many people asking for it.

  • There is no typo. I'm not telling not to use them, I'm telling not to recommend them. Especially on a chart that mostly targets beginners. The audience that wants to learn the ways of Linux to such an extent will find LFS eventually. Having distros that solve clearly non-beginner problems in a chart like this is harmful in my opinion.

  • You shall not advice to indulge in NixOS nor Gentoo. These take root in forbidden scripts, one must walk these depths of their own volition completely, clean of else's influence. Us tell such atrocities exist and share the way we use them, but never condemn one to do so as well.

  • I suppose to rescue it you can grab a portable Python release and use that to emerge a proper one, another option would be booting into a live environment. And to cause this, --unmerge and --rage-clean are your friends. No idea how you'd do that "accidentally", though.

  • These are not working with the API directly. It's just Discord's web client trapped in Electron, with JS/CSS injection and tracking stripped. The reason for this is that if you touch some API endpoints of Discord in an uncharacteristic for a normal client ways, your account gets banned immediately. Of course it's still detectable, but Discord does not really care. It's a measure against user bots, not against those who put in a CSS snippet to make the background pink.

That said, if you want to try living on the edge, give Discordo a shot.

  • GoofCord also exists if you want some variety.

  • For obvious reasons, -n does not work with -l. Not that it hurts to include it, but -ril makes more sense.

  • It's been greatly improved over the last two years. If you are actually interested in setting it all up, I highly recommend checking out the LVRA Wiki. There are Discord and Matix links there if you need any help.

  • By default, the message on the top-right refers to the location of the cursor in Helix. Though, I don't see a selected line or the cursor itself, so, I'm a bit confused, too.

From the bottom right, we know there is one selection and it's on 25:48, but lack of visual indication tripped me, too.

  • If you want a modal editor, you can also give Helix a try. Many people find it easier to use if you are coming in with no prior modal editor experience.

  • Yea, found a friend with a Windows machine to test it out, it's indeed an Explorer shortcut. I wonder if there is a way to get to some sort of shell without Explorer or Task Manager.

  • The saddest part for me is that he didn't even break the computer that bad, but declared it unusable. Just hit Super+R, you can run anything from there.

  • People were never apart to begin with, even if some power hungry pricks want you to believe otherwise.

We all live on the same planet, have roughly the same needs and wishes. Languages and cultures may be different, but under the hood we are all the same.

  • What formats are we talking about, exactly?

  • There is a category of Russian memes known as "волчьи мемы" (literally "wolf's memes") where you have a picture of a wolf, often distorted, put some cliche edgy text on it, but swap some words to make it into something hilarious.

  • If you want it to be more friendly than LFS, but not by too much, take a look at Gentoo.

Main feature is the ease of compiling software instead of grabbing binary packages, so, update times can get a bit out of hand depending on what you want on your system.
