  • I always put all of the code in the main block. Only exception is when I am creating a multithreaded/multiprocessor application. Then I normally use the if statement as the place to setup “the plumbing” with pipes and what not. That way people are forced to realize there is no main function but two co functions working in tandem

  • BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!

Like do tariffs go away instantly or are they staying in place until this farce escalates to the Supreme Court?

  • what does this mean exactly? Like whats gonna happen. Kind of annoying that tariffs are in limbo.

I thought a tenant of a healthy economy was some base modicum of economic stability. With this news its like what the heck? Is this “tariffs go away over night” or “tariffs are now in place sort of, creatinf economic limbo until the Supreme Court eventually makes a decisions and then maybe someone somewhere enforces the decision “ sort of thing

  • Didn’t the US do that in Vietnam? Issue an evacuation order to an area and then declared anyone remaining an enemy combatant?

  • I declare war on this hill!

    • Peak windows was Windows 7 in both design and Function. It was pinnacle User Experience of a traditional OS before Microsoft started chasing fads, (Touchscreens in Windows 8, Cloud integration in Windows 10, and now AI bullshit in Windows 11)
    • No opinion on macOS. My only complaint is that its not linux.
    • Instead of Flatpak I would replace that with AppImages. At least with Flatpak I get some semblance of the SW Integrating with my DE and a semblance of a package manager. AppImages I feel like are like rolling the dice on how much effort the dev put into it.
  • Does anyone know what the heck is going on now? I mean on one hand, wouldn’t this mean we would need to strengthen our alliances with other countries so groups such as NATO can claim global dominance rather than a singular country such as the USA? On the other hand wouldn’t we need to do literally a 180 on our global policies on trade, immigration, and military might?

Like I got no idea whats going on.

  • You know…. now that you mention it. Why didn’t the empire launch an orbital bombardment on Hoth. Or at the very least land artillery to shell the trenches? Plus they totally had the Tie fighters to run interference on the evacuation since planetary space was uncontested.

  • As a salaried employee. i demand that i get tipped my salary

  • I am desperately trying to be positive in a really bleak situation. But……

Maybe this is the 5D Master class Chinese Checkers move by the administration? Make the EU the primary regulatory source for medical trials and set the bar here in the USA by saying its FDA approved if it is already EU approved? Then boom cheaper drug prices for Americans and more expensive drug prices for the EU?

Again, most likely not the case but I really need some optimism at this point.

  • Lets also not forget that this was not a “surprise” oversight visit. I read somewhere, that the mayor Ras Baraka in person handed a letter of intention to conduct an oversight visit a week or two before hand. That part stuck out to me because he hand delivered the notice in person so that there was no uncertainty that they received the letter and to expect his visit.

  • why when we can wait for more Signal Leaks to occur?

  • Now to get me to resubscribe, get rid of all that ridiculous TLC, Discovery channel bullhsit. I ain’t gonna subsidize that shit.

  • Nah, just let him use it for whatever and whenever. Hell, just let him use it as is if he is impatient to fly in it.

When it turns out to be a massive liability to everyone on board. I am only seeing win-win scenarios with minor collateral damage in worst case scenarios.

  • Maybe I missed the day when it was covered in my Civics Class. But whats the protocol for a majority of constituents of a state to go, “Yo, we are going to stay in the Union but we are gonna go all 1776 on the state Government.”

Like it sounds like, they did the whole proper get a bill through the official channels and vote on it part. But it sounds like the establishment (In this case the state) is like, “yes, but NO”. So what do people do in a situation like this?

  • In other words. Israel has decided to do the absolute bare minimum in order to be no worse than a 90’s Somali warlord.

  • Disclaimer: If you want to explore window managers then go ham! Linux is all about exploration.

Now, If you think the grass might be greener on a different desktop manager then stick with gnome. By no means am I saying Gnome is the best, but its more of a situation where it will devolve into the quirks you know vs the quirks you don’t know situation.

Personal Antidote, I started with Gnome and used Gnome for years. Got curious and started jumping around I tried KDE, I3W, XFCE, Pure X, Etc. There were things I liked about each one of them but the quirks of each deviating from my expectations coming from gnome was too much and I ended up sticking with gnome.

That being said, out of necessity due to system constraints I run XFCE when I need a light weight DE. A close second in that realm is LXDE But I don’t like its default aesthetic nor do I feel like customizing it since I do most of my computing in a terminal.

  • Replace GNU/Linux with NixOS

  • So…… We got an alternative to Switzerland as a country? Historically I always thought they took digital privacy seriously. But it seems tides are changing.

We got any other GDPR countries as good as Switzerland? How about the Netherlands?

Or is this gonna turn into a game of finding a country that just doesn’t care about digital surveillance?
