  • Still it's not half of countries.

Also, how many of them keep colonies? Basically only Russia, unless you count the small islands France and UK keep (with local support).

China is still occupying Tibet and genociding Uygurs. So it's not only the US, bad countries have always and will continue to do the same thing.

  • If you don't look into electricity costs, it is a great idea. I had an old 100L fridge, when I looked into it, it consumed more power then my new 360L one. I sold it for some beer money. If I ever need a second fridge it will literally be cheaper to buy a new one after 5 years of power bills.

  • Liebherr makes fridges with 10 years of warranty for about 20% more than cheap brands. Super happy with mine. Nice features and efficiency too.

BSH is also supposed to build good appliances. Our old dishwasher from Neff was 20+ years old when we sold our apartment and you could still find manuals and replacement parts on the official website. A heat exchanger, a huge and complex part was like 100€. Fridge too: a drawer broke and we bought a replacement for around 15€.

In the US they are sold under the Bosch brand AFAIK.

  • Nobody is able to embargo the US. Not Europe, not China, not Europe and China combined. It would be catastrophic, we simply don't have the domestic capacity. Tech, certain medications, military hardware, spare parts, etc.

Sure, we could get a passable replacement for everything in 5 years or so, but until then it would literally cost lives.

  • "Most of Europe" only if you to it by area. Europe has 30+ countries, less than half have been colonizers. If you count Russia, France UK, Belgium, Netherlands Germany, Spain and Portugal, they are surely most of area, not most of the countries.

  • The US hasn't really suffered any serious consequences, yet. Similar to China. Russia didn't until Ukraine, before that they messed in Chechnya, Georgia, etc with impunity. I don't see anyone coming to the aid of Tibet or the uyghurs either, China is pretty scot free.

  • It's not about Russia winning against the EU, they can barely progress meters a month in Ukraine. Every Intel report the US withholds from Ukraine has the potential to cost Ukrainian lives, German equipment, French support, UK morale, etc.

The complete destruction of Europe is not the only thing we are worried about, every tantrum thrown by the orange toddler has very serious consequences.

  • As much as I like the French surrender jokes, they have been the greatest advocates of a strong and independent Europe for the last 80 years, from de Gaulle then to Sarkozy now (domestic popularity aside). They are on to something...

  • I genuinely don't know. Are they?

  • Yeah, how dare he not declare war on a nuclear superpower over a Venezuelan dictator!

I think Putin already showed how little the world is willing to go to war to defend the weak.

  • Yes officer, this comment right here.

  • My hat awaits.

  • No. But the American logic has always been "we must do something" -> "this is something" -> "therefore we must do it". Take the dumbest idea and run with it, or use it as an excuse for inaction.

  • Classic

  • In their pants? Doom

  • Your neighbor's nephew once wore blue jeans, so he's basically a war criminal.

  • Everybody with nukes does as the please. US, Russia, China, North Korea, Israel...

  • Thanks!
