  • Agreed but the top comment of this reply chain is so disingenuous. It's like someone posting "Hey guys, its my birthday!", then they pop in to be contrarian and say "don't forget you are going to die someday."

I don't get why they left a comment like this. Are they upset Mamdani won? If they actually like Mamdani they could have said "I hope the American people continue to support people like Mamdani if or when it comes out that they aren't some perfect superhero, and are just human like all of us".

Specifically the comment focuses on the left and attacks them as being non-compromising, and acts like this is a fact, when the left has shown its self to be quite compromising time and time again.

Remember its not left vs right, but top vs bottom and the only attacks done should be on the top. Anything else is divisive and helps the billionaires stay in power.

  • This is so true. I think I recall the current administration saying that ranked voting is bad for everyone and we need to pass laws banning it. They want every election to be first past the post since it benefits them in addition to gerrymandering and winner take all electoral college voting.

  • Fyi

  • Its all BS as the only Americans who aren't Immigrants would be native Americans.

My ancestors were technically here before the US was a thing and aren't even native Americans. They were given land grants from spain to parts of the Spanish territory that are now parts of Texas.

Immigrants are where America gets its strength. Attacking immigrants is just an attempt to weaken the people, divide and conquer, so the rich can stay in power.

  • No apologies here, if you want something to criticise Biden on that caused significant death focus on something like the shit job he did pulling the troops out of Afghanistan. Or his lack of action, like not expanding the supreme court which could have prevented a lot of the authoritarian bullshit the US is doing now. Your comment makes you sound like a US voter who didn't vote for Kamala against Trump because "Kamala bad too", and that kind of thinking is also another reason we are in the mess we are in now.

  • Good point, but man if I were in a band and found out my manager signed us up for that, they would be immediately fired if I had the choice. I assume with the label there are definitely contracts in place that muddle things.

  • Ah misread your comment

  • I was more curious why they accepted in the first place

  • Yeah not saying Biden didn't partake in drone warfare, but the civilian casualties from drone attacks were significantly reduced during his term as president. He only executed around a tenth as many drone attacks as done on Obama's term. So it is not something that makes sense to criticise him specifically on, especially when there are definitely other things to criticise him on.

  • Unrestricted drone warfare is more an Obama critisicm than Biden. The only creepy Biden thing I remember was him sniffing women's hair.

  • You mean KKK, Confederacy, White Supremacist, Slaver, Jan 6th Protester etc... The threat isn't foreign to America, and its been here in America since before Nazis existed.

  • Yeah or maybe Willem Dafoe.

  • It is usually a matter of him being a producer who decides who gets what roles like in Tron Ares. However, I don't think he is a producer this time. I don't know what it is this time.

  • Memes @lemmy.ml

    New He-Man Movie

  • Yeah, I also feel Hanibal was brought there against his will.

  • Exactly, the whole winner take all deal means not a single presidential vote I have made ever meant anything. The majority of electoral votes in my state were for the other party. So my preferred parties electoral votes won magically become the other parties. If they forced states to split electoral votes places like Texas and California would have a much different impact on elections.

  • Looks like that was in 2018. Hadn't heard of that. The first hint for me was in 2019 when planning to build a Tesla plant in Germany's black forest. Cant act like you are helping the environment with electric cars when you destroy it to create said cars...

  • Saw some comment by a manager on linkedin saying something like "Yeah, AI can replace developers now", and I'm just thinking good luck with that buddy.
