  • When I was a kid, my sister and I would watch the Macy’s Day parade all morning while my mom cooked.

After that we would probably throw on some football games in the background (mom’s the sports fan in my family).

We would go see the aunts and uncles and my grandparents — either side, we rotated between maternal and paternal off and on — and hang out there for a few hours around 3-4.

One of my uncles fried a turkey when that came in vogue, and my mom would always make mashed potatoes, while my aunt would make Mac and cheese. There was also this pineapple casserole with cheezit crust. It sounds weird, but the sweet and salty and crunchy go well together. It’s kind of like classy stoner food haha.

We also had rolls. They were these flaky layered rolls that I love a lot still. I recall peeling them apart layer by layer to eat them. So good.

I can try and remember more stuff, but that’s mainly it. We had more dishes, but they were like green bean casserole and stuff, so kid-Minions doesn’t associate that with Thanksgiving so much. I eat my veggies now, though.

  • That is so cool!

  • It has failed you. I have no idea who that is.

  • Robert Reich is the former Secretary of Labor (Clinton admin).

His son, Sam Reich, is CEO of Dropout. This is a streaming service that hosts a variety of shows. Cooking shows, improv, D&D games, etc.

A recurring joke on one of shows Sam hosts is that everyone talks about how he is from Cambridge, Massachusetts for some reason.

  • I wonder where that guy’s son is from.

  • Thankfully 2025 did a lot of things right, like bringing back the underpants.

  • Lemmy.world uses Cloudflare.

  • One Piece is good before episode 37 (iykyk) but that’s when it really picks up in quality imo. Romance Dawn (aka the entire first arc) of One Piece is a lot slower than the rest of the series.

  • Really I’m just hoping it’s not much more than a PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X.

I don’t want either of those, but would love a gaming PC, but don’t have time to build or have the money to shop one really.

So this is a really good above middle ground, assuming it’s less than 1k.

  • I’m fully expecting an 800+ USD price tag. And I’ve made my peace with that.

  • I often donate plasma. Sometimes while stressed I will start to unclench and clench my fist as if I’m donating.

  • I believe this fall was actually caused by an underlying heart condition.

  • Broken clock and all that.

Project Lightspeed was also incredible. But that’s about it.

  • I’d gladly have a minimum hourly wage from Uber while I’m online instead.

  • I’ve done Uber Eats.

Generally the only thing I ever judged people on is getting shafted on a tip when I know their house was worth over a million dollars.

  • I’ve watched parts of most of these shows/universes.

Gotta say pacing issues abound in pretty much all of them in some form or fashion.

One Piece as a manga is probably the best on this list, but still has some pacing issues.

Gintama, as you mentioned, is also really great. But sort of requires some meta-knowledge of pre-2010 anime to really be elevated.

  • Unserious answer: Ghost Stories

  • I have Apple Arcade as part of some bundle or another. But the other characters and maps are unlocked by playing in game.

  • Have you considered vampire survivors? That’s a fun one on iOS and android.
