This is what happened when we allowed companies with a profit incentive to code our devices. Linux will always be free, and there will be companies that design computers for Linux, such as Fairphone, Framework, Furi, Fedora, and probably some that don't start with F too
It can be helpful for people to know if their message has been read, or just not received. I appreciate it in others, so I do the courtesy of keeping it on for myself too.
Set up a code to yourself, easily remembered, and don't share it with anyone. Then include it secretly in communications to yourself. If you don't remember sending it, but it has your code, you can trust it.
I like the pronoun hän, or hen. Hän applies to everyone, so it's not awkward, and doesn't specify gender. Hen is an addition to han for he and hon for she, but is still relatively widely understood, and does not conflict with de for they. English is just annoying like that. Maybe we should adopt hen.
In the ancestral environment we would still work all day to survive, and we wouldn't have medicine or YouTube for it either. There could obviously be a more equitable system today, and the end goal is that humans don't have to work any more, but it's disingenuous to imply that the capitalist division of labour model is an alternative to not working and still getting stuff.
What I hate is that every stranger I see now assumes she/her pronouns for me (I prefer they/them, but she/her is also fine), yet my own family consistently uses he/him. I understand why, but it still is annoying.
If the vegans consent, you're still vegan.
