  • My understanding of this is that it is caused partly by bone conduction. It might be possible that closing your ears by pressing frimly on your "tragus" or on the "mastoid process" could reduce the associated effects. The mastoid process is where the jaw meets the ear.

  • My employer uses Cigna and with them it's $1,300. They keep asking what my pain level is and I keep telling them none. When I explain to them why I'm not getting the surgery yet they seemed absolutely baffled for some reason. They tried to get me to sign up for a medical credit card offering zero APR. I told them does zero APR mean also $0 a month, because that's about how much I can afford. And again they acted like not moving mountains and stirring the oceans was a me thing. Absolutely fucking wild.

  • I've been saying it for nearly a decade, conservatives and Christians as a whole respond only to shame. If you want them to change you need to shame them for their terrible choices and ideas. It needs to be relentless it needs to be continuous. Like a child you just caught smearing shit on a wall.

  • Yeah, Snot did a really good job. I'm actually saving this to forward on to other people. Thank you for making this post and thank you Snot for your reply.

  • A red ball balancing on a white ball with a blue ball balancing on top

    Copilot's version.

  • I think you've also described virtually all corporate employers.

  • What I'm trying to say is that I think those people I grew up with maybe had a misconception that the risk was much higher than it actually was. We maybe should normalize pet chickens for small properties. Daily fresh eggs are so good and chickens are adorably goofy animals.

  • US here, I grew up in a township, part rural part suburban, on a farm and this was not a concern for most people out there but all my friends and their families from the suburban side were squeamish. I think it comes down to repeated misinformation reinforcing a fear.

  • If you bust the nut, you'll ruin the threads. It's Kroil you're after if you need a penetrant, then you can get as many nuts off as you want. Could be more fun if you ruin it a couple times though....

  • Thank you for sharing this song. It really hits hard right now

  • I thought OP was making a sarcastic comment, not literally blaming Obama. It used to be a meme to blame Obama for every little insignificant thing that wasn't his fault. I might have read it wrong though. e.g. r/thanksobama

  • I'm absolutely positive they dropped a /s that was supposed to be at the end of that comment. If you read it with an exaggerated tone it sounds very sarcastic

  • How in demand is warehouse maintenance work?

  • Hi friend! Without knowing your history, what jobs you've applied for in the past. Try looking at fraud prevention jobs with credit card companies or at banks. Other companies may also have fraud departments. That's a very adjacent field for cybersecurity and would be easy to sell that experience.

  • I think you've just described an Alzheimer's care center. Buwhahah. Honestly appropriate.

  • An extremely common weapon is just whatever paper you can get your hands on, rolled up really really tight and folded over. You use it like a knife, targeting the neck or soft spots. I don't think it's used with intent to kill usually.

  • I agree with your analysis of her apology. I don't think I've ever considered what makes an apology sound genuine. I've always thought of it as a gut instinct. Thank you!

Do you think that the publicity from this statement, would make a second, more genuine attempt at an apology sound like attention seeking? I wonder what kind actions she could actually take to mitigate some of the damage she's caused. That's a rhetorical question, I think.
