Am a lil optimist folk that likes computers :3 Banner by David Revoy (Check his stuff!)

📌 The best internet hobby in current times is to be an archivist (For cencorship reasons)You should archive media NOW!!!

Alright:

  • I speak in arguments, don't act like a troll and i'll consider chatting.
  • Instance wars are always stupid.
  • Fediverse show his interest if you get a bit out of your comfort zone. Stop circlejerking.
  • Don't be chronically online please.

  • From what i've heard, with the aging population in developed countries and the birthrate getting lower due to longer life expectancy, population should soon stabilise itself around 10 billions. Seems viable.

  • Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication (a bit ironic when you consider this quote comes from Apple).

Steam is fun and all, minecraft is a great game, but goddamn, i have a 10kbps at home, and network is unstable where i live, why can't i play my fcking game "licence" which is not even online based, because the network decided to stop??

I prefer from far a simple folder with assets and a .exe that i will put on my desktop with a shortcut.

What an application is supposed to be anyways.

  • You must show your id to access NSFW subreddits!

    "oh no!"

changes www.reddit.com to old.reddit.com on the adress bar

    "anyways"

Tho i remember when they removed compact reddit. But i think if they remove old.reddit.com, people will really start to leave, so they'll try to get rid of it quietly.

  • It will become boring if you think that nothing can be done. Even if creating isn't a profession anymore (as in doing comissions or paid media like someone else said), the simple fact of drawing to show your love to something, to give a visual representation of your thoughts, it will never dissapear. Everyone seems hopeless, by the fact that they are all trapped in the social media loop. Life seem empty and boring if your only source of entertainment come from media consumption (which is the case for a lot from the rat race unfortunately)

But we all will find a way out, and creativity will always matter. Maybe not for the next decades, but someday it will. Trust me ;)

  • I just think theses people(who use AI to make "art") does not have enough courage and perfectionism to get into drawing.

"Why bother putting hours in drawing learning, if the magical AI can draw the meme I ask it instantly?"

"Why bother buying a telescope and putting hours in astronomy theory if you can see better space images for free on internet?"

"Why bother doing a marathon, if i can just take my car and go there faster?"

For everything, you need to invest enough of your time in it so start liking it. The majority of people only have a few hobbies.

They see art as a way to be popular for the nerds who are skilled enough to draw. They see astronomy as a way to be popular for the nerds who learned astrophotography. They see sport as a way to be popular for the nerds who are fit enough to run.

For them, one thing that seemed innaccessible, became accessible with AI. I know it's sad, but theses people don't care if something has a soul or not. They just want their eye-appealing ghibli portrait.

Here's a good blog article that better conveys my point of view.

  • Dreaming awake. Idk how to call it otherwise.

I invent to myself the most ridiculous stories of things of my imagination and i play them in my head, like a sort of head game.

When i do a sufficiently long story, i often fall asleep on it and i continue it the next evening, and it can last months. Plus you get better at mental visualisation the more you do it. I remember dreams almost every night since i did that for a long time.

  • Damn, even if it was to be excepted with how the admin issue was evolving, it's still sad.

But i guess the strengh of the fediverse come from the fact that such an issue can happen without impacting the entire lemmy community as a whole.

I'm just worried that the lack of moderation becomes a recurrent issue in the future of lemmy with the userbase growth and the lack of revenue.

I wish best luck for communities moderators and EE users!

  • True, i did a sophism, all cards must now be reversed, i am upvoting you.

  • You are doing a logical fallacy of assuming wrong based only on logical fallacies. I am downvoting you.

  • I gotta read that, maybe my mind was too uncultured to estimate the creativity of some people.

  • It’s hard to even realise that this is real. I mean... is it real?

That’s something i think not even the most deranged dystopian writer would have imagined.

  • This is a very interesting channel, and it approaches lots of my questions, thank you!

  • It’s a bit of a nitpick, but I’m not sure I’d use “flow” here. That makes it sound like it’s moving, while the Schwarzchild solution is actually static with respect to a properly chosen time coordinate (and without checking, probably the spinning and charged solutions as well). The spacetime is curved in such a way all timelike (c or slower) trajectories go inwards.

Oh that makes sense. I though it was space time itself which was moving, bringing with it the objects on it. (probably had seen some illustration representing it like that)

But yes the gravitational waves take is interesting, it burn my mind trying to imagine how to "trap" spacetime in itself.

  • It would be for 10 hours, then Trump would remove the bill and be seen as an hero. As usual.

  • I'm KalimbaTvChannel Marley and it’s time to groove to some absurd aztec vibes on

    Nightcore Primate Rave

  • It’s being like you

  • Hey can you tell me what’s the source of this please? Seems interesting
