Agreed there, personally though I do feel one of the biggest silly combinations games often make is, having marathon grade health, easy access to health potions AND a save anytime system. It’s like I could use a potion to heal up… or I could go back 5 seconds and do the fight without taking a hit.

I don’t see how anyone can blame you for this oppinion, and I’ll happily say I agree 100%. It’s basically known for a fact that anywhere sex work is unregulated, unmonitored etc… are almost universally used by traffickers, underage participants etc… and if we are talking video hosting, then revenge porn etc… Gotta fully agree, this is the category I want the site operators across the board to have the government breathing down their neck saying “You better damn well do everything humanly possible to prove this video was made with uncoerced consent of someone old enough to make that choice”.

STOP MAKING NUKES… that all of our spies are telling us you aren’t actually making, so they must be next to the nukes from Iraq’s WMD’s.
Surrender means they have to stop doing something… and best I can see iraq’s just been sitting there minding their own damn business, when isreal attacked them. It’s like the god damn “STOP RESISTING!!!”.
TheFogan@programming.devto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Has anyone pirated their internet?English15·2 days agolol I did that for a while when I was broke… for quite some time I rigged up my linksys router with wrt, set it up as a repeater for my neighbors wifi after cracking it.
Of course the real irony was after cracking it, I realized I could have cracked it much easier with a phone book (after realizing my local ISP, just used the persons phone number as the WEP key)

TheFogan@programming.devto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•In old movies, it's only creepy rich people who have cameras in their house watching everything. Now everybody's creepy.English2·2 days agoWell the rich people part is kind of silly.
In the past it was only rich people who had celphones, now it’s everybody. Before that it was only rich people who had computers at all.
Of course with cameras, I do have to note the bigger irony to me. IE I remember it largely being the tin foil hat nerds that were terrified of the government showing up at their door, watching for black hellicopters.
Now of course, the typical home buyer has cameras with internet access that gleefully share everything to the government, while the tinfoil hats either go way out of their way to make sure to get cameras that don’t go to the internet (or block them from doing so), or just avoid them altogether.
Biggest flaw IMO is it seems like they just are going with a binary “left – right”. rather than specific issues as well.
IE, when the democratic party “leans right”, they adopt, cut taxes on corporations, they basically give the right their narratives.
IE Republicans on immigration:
There’s millions of murderous drug cartel pet eating monsters in this country wrecking everything, we need to get them all out of here by any means necessary.
Dems response: We should absolutely get them out of here, but it’s worth it to do it slowly and keep due process.
The obvious problem being to the uneducated voter they hear “The parties agree, there are lots of horrible murderers here, do I care more about the rights of the murderers, or getting them out before there are victims”.

Honestly the most unbelievable part of that movie is, the president seems to be one of the smartest people born in that generation. Yeah he seems dumb by our standards, but you put him next to the lawyers and everyone else in that society… he actually seems pretty brilliant.
I’d say it partly depends on where you live… or where you plan to live. Bottom line is in the US anywhere that isn’t a big city. Being able to drive is basically going to be a pre-requisite to having a job.

Why, because a lot have special automations to attempt to retain you by offering you deals.
“are you sure you want to leave, what if we gave you 3 months at half off?”.
Rimworld does pretty well on not just “money trader has” but specifically that traders don’t deal in, well things they don’t deal in.
Elder scrolls to my knowledge, the blacksmith will sell you a sword… and literally buy cheese wheels down to his last penny.
what’s he going to do then… flip the sign from black smith to cheese shop, until he builds up enough cash to restock on metals, why isn’t everyone a general store at that point due to customers selling and buying random stuff.
TheFogan@programming.devto News@lemmy.world•Amid Moscow's war in Ukraine, Trump wonders why 'everybody hates' RussiaEnglish1·6 days agoMore dumb to me is, just simply the concept of nations changing drastically over time. It was the communist party of russia that fought along side us in WW2, it was the facist states in germany and japan that we fought against.
Obviously it’s not the land mass and the name that people have problems with, it’s the actions, people don’t like the authoriterian regime that’s attempting to take over the nations around it. People like the nations that show no signs of attacking other nations and look for mutually beneficial agreements.
This is so much like the confusion when he thought the german leader would think of D-Day as a bad day.

TheFogan@programming.devto politics @lemmy.world•Trump Voter Gets Choked Up After ICE Detains a Third of His StaffEnglish17·7 days agoWas going to start with thinking that, but then watched the video. I’m hearing far more “My friend runs a land scaping business, and he lost 10 or so, he’s going out of business”. Then comments on how they don’t live in a big city and they don’t know how they are going to find people to hire. Finally in the last 15 seconds he tears up and says he got to know them as friends and he hates seeing what it did to them and their families.
So yeah… feels like “I won’t make money”, “I’ll lose my business”, and “oh yeah they were good people who I hate to see their lives ruined”.

Because the only time anyone has considered a situation important enough to drop a nuke, it was to stop an alliance of facists from wrecking the world.
It’s the double edged sword… bottom line, he gets us to protest, he’ll use it to declare martial law to get what he wants.
If we dont protest, he’ll use our inaction as approval and continue pushing and throwing the law out the window so it doesn’t effect him and his power grows more anyway.
There is no easy path to victory, his side has contingencies for most anything we can do… all we can do is do it stronger than they anticipate.
