It's crazy to me how many Americans think that political differences are like having a preference for pizza over hamburgers.
Politics exists as some kind of ideological exercise that floats around in the ether as opposed to a way to exert power over people.
Surely, they can recognize that if they got everything they wanted politically, some people would be unhappy.
Like, if I got everything I wanted politically, chuds would be fucking pissed. I would understand why they hate me. I wouldn't sit there like a deer in the headlights wondering, "hmm, why are they so worked up about my political beliefs? 🤔"
He thinks China's large population matters a lot for power politics. He is correct. But no so long ago, that population was seen as a dire crisis. Through central planning, China was able to pull the rabbit out of the hat, yank a huge portion of its population out of poverty, and establish a huge class of consumers to participate in the economy.
Matty wants a billion Americans, but what the fuck would America do with a billion people? Let them starve?
"Oh, so you're telling indigenous people that their culture of meat eating is inferior to your settler culture? I eat meat in solidarity with indigenous people whose land I'm also settling"
Looking into it.
