  • Years of democratic fear mongering has affected the view that many of the people this affects so they don't have firearms. Some have firearms but don't carry, they leave it at the house.

    The people that were armed in case of government tyranny are fine with this. It's almost like a lot of them were armed because there wanted this to happen to the opposing political party but were scared someone would get to them first.

  • ETN. Then I went on to get a BS in Nuclear Science and Engineering, but to be fair ACE let me skip a whole lot of shit. So my knowledge is a couple of decades old, slightly obscured by years of alcohol abuse (that didn't start but kicked into high gear at NTPU Ballston Spa), and not focused on bombs. As I recall there's a way to make a nuclear weapon that leaves everything a nuclear wasteland rather than just a bombed out husk that involves carbon or cobalt or something. But the best I could do is try to remember formulae while someone is getting bombed to hell by it.

  • I don't play a lot of video games that involve that. But I did work on nuclear reactors in the Navy. To be fair that was a long time ago so I may not remember the specifics.

  • Because from a bomb it's not really radioactive that long from my understanding. Less than 2 years until an area is habitable again, but it would need to be monitored. Add to that the distance between the capital and where the oil reserves are is a few hundred km. Bomb the capital, get the surrender, steal the reserves. No need to send your people where the radiation is.

  • A lot of people have a terrible relationship with at least one person. An ex, a parent, a grandparent, an old friend who stole all your alcohol and refused to give it back or pay for it even though he knew you needed it for a get together you were having so you had to go buy all new alcohol on short notice which means you had to leave your brisket smoking unattended so you could drive to the next county and ended up with a brisket that was overdone, whatever. I don't think it's "wife bad" so much as it is "everyone knows a shitbag".

    It's no contest. Talarico is the more progressive of the two. I'm glad Allred dropped out because he's milquetoast. Crockett is proud of being a corporate Democrat. Talarico has called what Israel is doing atrocities and war crimes. He's headed in the correct direction on healthcare even if I disagree on the nuances. He's vocal about the billionaire donor issue. My biggest beef is how much of his platform is based on being a Christian, but that's a strength here whether I like it or not. And to be fair he calls out the people using the religion to be racist jackasses so, unlike a lot of the cowards, he is trying to clean house.

    If Crockett is the nominee I'll vote for her. But unless and until then Talarico gets my money, attention, and time.
