  • He will invade Poland if you let him.

  • How can you type with those big wolf paws?

  • I think you can do a memtest with Windows included tool that doesn't require to install anything. Type memory check or something in the Start menu and the system should require a restart to boot on the memtest.

But obviously setting up a dedicated thumb drive can be useful too.

  • Also why exactly 4 liters? Do people think our bodies only accept exact amount of fluids?

  • Yeah...

Seems like a real picture but with a strong AI filler.

  • By spreading I meant thar if there is an underlying manufacturing defect it would be really difficult to predict where and when it would happen on memory. And if there is already a fault detected more might come later.

But I'm glad you documented how to do these types of workaround. It might be helpful with memory prices skyrocketing...

  • Very cool to be able to do that even though I'm not sure it's worth it to run a RAM module that has a known defect.

If the fault spreads there will be corruption again.

  • My instance of choice decided to unilaterally and without any warning whatsoever disable downvotes. Just to "try it out".

I'm still pissed about it to this day.

I mean that google removes any kind of downvotes is one stupid thing, but that people think this makes content "better" is crazy to me.

Now I do understand that in small communities the weight of a super negative account can be quite an issue.. But is removing completely any negative feedback the solution ? Really, it's all we got ?

Also the simple fact that a lot of this community is from Reddit, IMO it's not okay to disable a feature like that without even voting on it.

So if you think disabling negative feedback fixes an issue, you have the burden to prove or at least explain the reasoning.

I do think it didn't make YouTube any less of a cesspool to disable downvotes on it...

Edit : Also while votes are not supposed to replace moderation, they certainly help limiting the reach of spammers. Like if the mods are asleep at least the community can bury the post in the meantime. But no, they just disabled downvotes and made a post about the change the same day. Wtf.

  • I would say it doesn't exactly say that AI is bad moreso that shoving it forcefully in people's throat is not the way to do it.

If all the BS AI of Windows would be exclusively opt-in I would be "" fine"" with it.

Then there is also the "telemetry" and the random updates, or settings changing on their own and...

  • Anybody got the feeling some games may be negatively affected by a PiHole ?

It'd not really the reason I stopped using it but I suspected that some games didn't like it when PiHole was up...

Anyway this post motivated me to reinstall my RasPi.

  • Not the spam sheep post...

  • LOL I immediately thought about Spotify when reading the question.

Spotify was once an ultra fast app. Now it takes 15 seconds from launching the app to starting your music.

What I find funny is that Spotify used to be super fast at the inception of the service.

  • Is it a key difference though ?

If you exploit people that has only one choice : Taking whatever shit job they can... Barely paid enough to survive. They are not slave per se but their boss couldn't be happier to have cheap labor that has no leverage whatsoever and would accept anything anyway. It is farming desperation.

To some extent I think some big business are borderline slave owners even though you could say all their slaves could leave their job and die from hunger if they wish to do so. They could voluntarily choose death over basically being owned by another human but surprisingly enough most dont do that.

  • What a terrible website.

And I say that with an active adblocker...

  • I guess we will see very soon with the release of Arc Raiders...

(According to IGN it's a Fortnite clone pretty much because you have a pickaxe and it's TPS)

  • I understand AI is really unpopular over here but for that I think it can be a good training partner.

Give it the name of the business the job description and let it work a preparation plan.

Also a reminder that sometimes we all fail interviews and that's the nature of this exercise. And sometimes interviewer will purposefully put you in an impossible scenario just to see how you behave under stress. So remaining calm and humbly saying what you dont know or understand can be a good thing to do. I did get a job for an interview I felt I had completely failed.

Anyway don't give up and good luck for your next interviews !
