  • I’m downvoting people here for being unreasonable asswipes, but I’m not Zionist and support the end of Israel’s violence against Palestinians. I also support the dissolution of Hamas and Hezbollah, and the imprisonment of Netanyahu. But a lot of people on Lemmy seem like they’re antisemite shills or bots, who want an end to Israel as a state, and those people can go fuck themselves.

  • I imagine every nuclear state has developed such extreme plans. Singling Israel out for criticism over it makes no sense.

Oh, unless you’re an antisemite, I guess.

  • Trump and his administration aren’t doing this out of some rational thought process; this is purely to hurt people he considers his enemies. Our people voted into office a pathological narcissist, a whining, conniving, conning baby of a man, a man who should have remained an unsuccessful joke. Those who voted for him and regret it now deserve their suffering. It’s just so unfortunate that so many other people, who never wanted to give this man power, have to suffer along with them.

I just hope that when his term is over, Trump’s MAGA cult will disintegrate and American politics will return to some semblance of sanity (as sane as any political system can called, at least). I, for one, will never forgive the idiots and evil people who voted for him—including the radical Christian lunatics in my own family.

  • I guarantee you most of our citizens don’t read the NY Times and are too poorly educated to understand the potential consequences of this.

  • I have improved the lives of many people in small ways via my job as a therapist. The best part is that I know this for a fact by seeing the improvement over time. Therapy is, in some respects, about re-parenting people; the damage you help heal is intimate and permanent. You help people grow, literally. Very rewarding, again, in the long run.

  • Very much, yes. It’s so disrespectful to other people.

  • If you vote Democratic, you’re getting a far better version of leftist politics than the GOP. No, it’s not ideal leftist politics, because Dems are still beholden to US megacorps, and that is definitely a problem. But you can’t assert that because voting options are limited, political will is restricted to those options. The U.S. is undergoing a major political problem right now, which may well result in the dissolution of both parties and a broader multi-party system. You can’t just point to a country’s political parties and say, “well, they have only those two options, so they’re locked in forever, and those two options represent the entire country’s political will.” That’s ridiculous. There’s much to be said about the rise of far right politics in Europe right now, but you wouldn’t endorse opinions that the EU is trapped between far-left and far-right politics, would you? No, most people have views that register in-between. The same is true in America. We’re not so different from you. Stop pretending otherwise. We’re all human and we’re all part of a global civilization.

  • Political spectrum isn’t just about political parties. The two parties in the US don’t represent the full spectrum of political opinions in the country. If you want to understand that, you’re going to have to dig deeper.

  • Considering our political spectrum includes both democratic socialists that model their politics off of European leftist examples and actual communists who think China is a good model to follow, I’m pretty sure you don’t know what you’re talking about.

  • <gasp>

    Das ist Superman!

  • If you think that, then you don’t know much about our political spectrum. Or—more likely—you’re just trolling.

  • 1.) No, a meme is not anything that is shared or goes viral. Then anything would be a meme.

2.) Generally speaking, yes, but I wouldn’t necessarily make it a requirement for the community.

3.) If it’s just the headline, no.

4.) Yes, to me, a meme has always been an image + text. An image of text only is not a meme. Text only is not a meme. I would say images of other posts are okay, so long as something is added to it that makes it substantially more than the post itself (so, the post is a part of the meme, but the meme also involves something added by the memer).

5.) No, not yet. Healthy discussion is always good.

  • I have never had anything to do with Star Citizen, and I don’t care that you’re mocking it. I just think you should pay more attention to your spelling if you’re going to do so. It makes you look foolish.

Anyway, I’m done explaining this to you. Buh-bye.

  • Ah. No, I don’t consider those memes.

  • I made no mistake. You should mind your own education more and spend less time throwing shade online.

  • Learn to spell before you make fun of others’ intellects.

  • I don’t consider 67 a meme in and of itself. I don’t know about these challenges you’re referring to.

  • Your reasoning simply seems to reflect the need for additional training and effort on the part of the pet owner. That’s not “reasoning” so much as bitching. Pets do perfectly well in human dwellings, so long as care and effort are taken to make it so. It kind of sounds like you shouldn’t own an indoor pet. That’s fine for you. Stop telling other people what to do when they may well be more caring and/or less lazy than you.

  • Right now, you’re the problem.
