  • In the UK, if I opened a page that had CSAM on it but closed it as soon as I realised without opening the images, the fact that my browser has cached that page (with thumbnails) means I'm in possession & could be prosecuted.

  • The UK have literally done fuck all though & this threat of sanctions is lip service to public opinion (+400,000 marched through London last weekend but you'd never know from British media!).

    David Lammy, the foreign secretary said that he had suspended 29 of the 300+ arms contracts to ensure they wouldn't be used against civilians in Gaza.

    He didn't specify our give any details about those contacts, just a vague bit of handwaving.

    Now we know that the UK has flown+600 surveillance flights over Gaza since October 7th (from the still colonised Cyprus) & have passed that intel to the Israelis.

    The state never does anything willingly & when it dies stood like this, it's purely performative.

    In all seriousness, you really don't want a mass exodus from Reddit to Lemmy instances. It's better that it's slowly so growth is managed but even more important, user quality is maintained!

    When the Digg exodus happened, Reddit literally overnight went from a considered discussion board to full of ascii art, 1 line shit witty or pun comments, lyric threads and the signal to noise ratio went to shit.

    On top of that there were constant stability issues that were compounded by all the thickos constantly hammering F5.

  • Shes the daughter of one of the biggest rock managers and her own company had a roster of significant artists so shes definitely independently wealthy.

    Shes from a privileged background (despite her dad being abusive and her mum trying to kill her a few times) and thinks that entitles her to tell other people how to behave. Maybe she should have focused on her own kids a bit more seeing how problematic they were.

  • Any artist I hear online that I like their music, if they dont have a BC page, I suggest they sort one out. What I like about them is that I can stream peoples music via the app but also download it so I actually 'own' the music. I also like buying physical releases from artists through there.

    I've not sold music through there so I'm not au fait with their terms but I know its not as terrible as all the streaming sites.
