  • It doesn't work outside of KDE?

  • Damn, RPGs peaked in the 80s for you. What did these games do right that nothing has done better since?

  • Out of curiosity, what are some games that you consider contenders for greatest RPG?

  • How is it better than a steam deck?

  • In the vast majority of elections I did or could have voted in, I have looked after the fact and seen how my contribution, or lack of, Did. Not. Fucking. Matter.

Elections are almost never decided by a single vote, do you think your vote only matters if it's the deciding vote? I've watched so many election votes counts and so often I see evil win because the vote total for the lesser evil just didn't bother to vote that eletcion. I've also seen areas flip because enough people think their vote doesn't matter because it's a "safe seat" until it isn't. Why be one of those people, just vote every time. There will be an election this November that almost no one will vote in. I've seen vote totals in the 100s and elections decided by less than 10 votes. It would be so easy to sway the results if just a handful more people voted.

Also most options I am presented with most of the time are uninspiring or downright evil.

Vote for the lesser evil otherwise you are more likely to get the greater evil.

Its not my responsibility to "solve" America's 250 years of lies.

I'm not asking or expecting you to, I just want you to vote. Voting doesn't solve things it's just a tug of war and I want more people constantly tugging for the lesser evil.

So have fun on your high horse as you highlight one cherry-picked recent primary result for one city in a country filled with 90,000 governments and countless elected positions.

It's to show you that if you turn out, you can affect elections. You aren't the only person with your belief that voting doesn't matter, there are tons of you. If you all get out and vote you'll make a difference, but it starts with you.

  • Your vote is a formality until it swings the state. What is a swing state changes every election. You never truly know until after you voted so vote every time.

  • The top part is true, but reversing 25% is something and it's not a constant flow of more carnage. If you don't give a fuck, then you are basically pro carnage since you are doing nothing to stop it, but fuck me right?

Also you can vote for who Dems up on the ticket in the primary. New York voters showed the rest of the country that it's possible.

  • Those seem like niche things to hold on to. A 5090 should work just fine under Linux, what feature do you use that isn't supported? Also a 9070 XT is capable of doing ray tracing. You don't always have to have the absolute most powerful card.

I don't have an HDR monitor so can't say how well it works in Linux, but you can survive without HDR. Is a better lighting contrast that big of a deal?

  • If you complain something won't do anything, then you must propose a better thing or the only thing you want is apathy.

  • Switch 2 GPU is similar in spec to a laptop RTX 2050 with more vram and better DLSS, I wouldn't say that's mid range gaming PC.

I'd say something decent will exist by the end of the decade if Nintendo can't stop development of emulators.

  • I think you are ignoring point they are making. If the headline and article tell two different stories, those who just read the headline can come away with a different impression of what's happening. You can argue people that just read the headline shouldn't exist, but they do.

  • I feel like MY BRAIN is dying Just reading those POSTS. Such great BRAIN. Truly The Greatest Posts Ever. Looking forward to Reading more! NOW!

  • It's not the best selling console of all time. It had one of the best launches, but the PS2, DS and OG switch sold 160, 154 and 152 million. Switch 2 only has 5 million so far.

  • And you're not going to get ranked choice voting without a new party.

Not true, parts of the US have ranked choice. You have ignored the divide and conquer point. You cannot have a new party before ranked choice without splitting the vote.

However, there are a lot of people who don't vote, and a lot of people who are unhappy about both parties.

Get those people to vote in democratic primaries. Green and Libertarian exist for people unhappy with both parties and they just help to split the vote and barely increase voter turnout. Republicans strategiests promote the Green party because it helps them win elections by splitting the vote.

There are Republican voters disappointed in Trump who still can't bring themselves to vote Dem because of all the propaganda they've put in their heads.

A new party won't break that propaganda, you have to break the propaganda machine. If a new party was a threat, they'd just spin up new propaganda and guess what, those people will fall in line and not vote for your new party.

A bigger problem is making it an actually big party, getting media attention, getting money to campaign with, etc. US politics runs on money. Because yet another Green or Libertarian Party won't be helping.

You clearly understand the difficulty of a new party. That's why democratic primaries are vastly easier. You need less money, you need fewer votes to win, you can operate entirely in a smaller market, you don't need national media. Once you've won, you've already eliminated a candidate you'd have to run against and won't be splitting the vote with.

  • You can't start a new party without rank choice voting otherwise you'll just split the vote. You'll be falling for the divide and conquer strategy. Vote for progressives in democratic primaries and support rank choice voting. Only once a vast majority of the country is solidly rank choice should talk of a new party even be mentioned.

  • I fucking hate this logic. Trump took over the Republican party through the primary without Republican party support. People need to vote for the progressives in the Democratic primaries and not wait for the Democrat establishment to endorse them.

  • CO2 isn't dangerous to inhale until after 1000 ppm, so we've still got a way to go for in the inhaling department.

  • I felt like they did it one more time, but I guess they only ever discussed doing it and never actually did. Given that it was a series opening event and how well it was used in The Best Of Both Worlds im surprised it wasn't used again until Generations.

  • I feel like people believe this because the next two movies were so awful. I've always felt like the force awakening was worse than the prequels. None of the good story telling from a new hope was transferred.
