  • Because the batteries and charging equipment in them explode into flames far more often than stuff regulated in north America or Europe.

Far too many people have died due to cheap Chinese electric bikes starting fires in their homes.

  • Nah they mean observing from the surface of say the moon and seeing earth block the sun.

I think this is a fairly common occurrence, but you wouldn't get the same effect since the shadow would cover the entire surface and lack of atmosphere you wouldn't get the sunset in all directions look.

  • Gotta say though it's kinda nice when you run an update to be able to tell ah yes KDE apps are being upgraded when you see the wall of Ks

  • Technically since it's the Chinese government throwing money at the business that would make them better at socialism than us.

  • Always a good time until your repo mirror hasn't fully synced everything so you get updated Nvidia driver but an older kernel so your video drivers don't load.

That was a fun hour until I commented out a few mirrors and tried a different one.

  • You are misunderstanding, NASA will do exactly as you said if they need to. But they are a science and RnD organization, so they are focused on working on and attempting to resolve the problems that starliner has.

When they are satisfied with the data they have collected from the craft they will make a decision on how to return the crew and dispose of starliner.

  • Of course it did, everyone here came from Reddit.

  • Nah, cell towers often have some kind of backup power good for a couple hours or more, at least in the city where I am. I think I once had an outage last 3 days when a tornado wrecked the local transformer station, and still had cell service the entire time.

  • They left a couple retro reflectors on the moon during the moon landings so we can bounce lasers off them to accurately measure the distance to the moon.

  • Sure until the Soviets started pushing the Germans back, and then the Soviets started pillaging and raping everything on the way to Berlin .

  • I think they are talking about the targeting of civilians, which the Soviets were quite awful for during WW2.

  • Depends on the marina, one of my local ones charge $50 per foot a year, plus membership of ~$600-$700 yearly. But this is on a river with no ocean access, not sure how that would change things.

  • A 29' boat is absolutely tiny to live on. The overwhelming majority is taken up by things the boat needs to be a boat

  • If you actually knew anything you'd know that overclockers tend to manually reduce the voltage as they increase the clock speeds to improve stability, this only works up to a point, but clearly shows voltage does not directly influence clock speed.

  • They aren't over clocking / under clocking anything with the fix. The chip was just straight up requesting more voltage than it actually needed, this didn't give any benefit and was probably an issue even without the damage it causes, due to extra heat generated.

  • I don't get all the angular hate, other than just hating js in general Ive enjoyed using angular on projects I built with it

  • The only dress code that exists in genetics is full blown nudity.

Fuck off you insane jack ass

  • They have bad cell signal because it's a giant steel box, big box stores are basically big shitty Faraday cages.

  • They aren't, it's more "it's the EUs fault for forcing us to allow businesses like cloud strike to write kernel level antivirus, because we already have our own."
