  • Learned on a 2000s era VW Beetle, and then a Mazda B2500 FW/2WD. Last manual I owned was a 2015 Honda Fit. Now both our vehicles are Automatic AWD.

I did get to drive a little 4cyl manual SEAT on holiday in Madeira which was an adventure. 36% grade roads, hairpin turns -- like 150cc mario kart around there

  • Such a strange funny movie. Haven't seen The Little Hours in a while

  • I appreciated that the article quickly turned to "SO WHERE ARE THE FILES" lol

Do you think they'll ever actually be released? *sigh

  • I mean, there's definitely some bad, syrupy stuff out there these days. I still much prefer the current amount of selection and creativity from local brewers to the "Coors or Budweiser" way it used to be.

  • What's wrong with craft beer? Or do you mean the competition aspect?

  • Got my wife to use Ffox with uBlock origin! I have a raspberry pi waiting to be a pihole (again). Took it down to troubleshoot a while ago and left it off. I'd really like to set up more of a "digital homestead" as a friend calls it--just need time, money, and money.

  • Are you saying that because of the article, or the one or two comments on HN in response to the post?

  • sigh

  • Mayflower Gulch to Boston Mine is a favorite in Colorado, US. You do a decent incline on old forestry road up to a mining ghost town, and there are gorgeous views.

  • Definitely keep it, looks great!

  • Makes me think of the comic East of West by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta. The character of Death rode a robot horse:

  • I've heard this from other educators as well! What do you think the ramifications are down the line with people knowing less and less about how computers actually function?

I mean, I guess mechanics have jobs because most people know how to use a gas pedal and steering wheel, but not how an internal combustion engine works?

  • I paid for Kagi for a while and many of my coworkers use it. It's a solid and growing engine that's getting a a lot right re: creating good UX and generating search results (which should be the goal of a search engine, *sigh).

That said, l use SearxNG daily nowadays because it's decentralized and privacy-focused. You can use any of the public instances or host your own if you like.

Here's an example of the search results for "Neuroscience" on the instance I use.

  • Plus one for posteo. I've used them for several years now and have had no issues

  • +1 for Ferris!

  • I agree completely -- said with the C and the T as very sharp and pronounced as possible.

  • Thank you! Also love the username--great game in great series
