I'm just your average Canadian wolf. I'm a siren enthusiast and railfan as my main hobbies. I run the Civil Defense Sirens Wiki, and am working on restoring a few vintage sirens (such as a FS&S Model L and a rare Sterling Siren MOD. F) as well as a 1970s Safetran mechanical crossing bell.

  • The original Diamond and Pearl are almost unplayable without using an emulator to speed it up. Especially the health bars. Looking at you, Victory Road trainer with a Blissey!

  • The ROM hacking scene has had so many awesome hacks recently, I can hardly keep up! I've been playing Elite Redux and Emerald Rogue a lot recently, and heavily enjoyed Unbound and Gaia. There's a bunch of new DS hacks coming that are looking very promising too, including ones with original regions. We may very well see a DS hacking renaissance soon!

  • Platinum fixes a lot of the issues that Diamond and Pearl had, namely the extremely slow animations and health bars, as well as the lack of available fire types. It's the definitive way to play Gen 4, especially Drayano's Renegade Platinum.

  • Paris did the same thing Mamdani wants to do in NYC: Turn roads into green spaces and pedestrian paths/bikeways and make it much easier to get around without a car. While the people there were at first unsure about it and complained, they've been really happy with it now that it's proven itself to be beneficial. The air is cleaner, and the streets are safer and far less congested. It's totally transformed Paris.
