  • And preferably a bit harder to use to keep the script kiddies out.

  • Really speed running the "Why Nations Fail" checklist. Kill institutions, inclusivity, rule of law, pushing extractive industries. Educational and healthcare is already half death but still needs to get the coup de grâce.

  • Going number two afterwards and accidentally launching yourself into orbit?

  • Yes, in the new "might is right" world Trump is pushing for, it's better to start pushing back or get pushed over. In his "make a deal" world view, better to say to ban everything outright in two weeks. In his typical fashion, some compromises might appears the next day. Losing a few hundred million customers and large amounts of influence will sting him and his supporters.

  • Because rich folks don't want to attribute their fortune to being born rich, to being lucky by being in the right place at the right time, or shady dealings. It'll always convince themselves it's because they're so hard working, such a genius, such great instincts for business... It doesn't help that they'll attract a bunch of yesmen and society at large respects money so much. From there on, they'll Dunning–Kruger in spectaculair fashion over anything that strikes their fancy.

The real smart ones know this can happen and make sure to guard themselves against this. They other ones fire anybody with a different opinion until their luck runs out.

  • Only 1-3 in 1000 die. It can go up to 3-10% for developing country conditions.

  • True. After DOGE didn't manage to see the difference between million and billion in their savings calculation, asking for receipts is a very good idea.

  • It reminds me a lot of the Herman Cain Awards.

  • Government told people to never drink raw milk. The sale and consumption of raw milk went up in ivermectin loving circles. It's weird reverse psychology with raw milk.

  • "China has offered 600 billion. We'll sell it to them, give you 500 and still come out ahead 100 billion. Art of the Deal."

How to make Trump's head explode.

  • If you do the calculation, the discount you get in the end is often just 1%. I don't really care about that 1%. You can get more, but the time you have to invest to get a better deal makes less money than just work an extra hour.

And some of those loyalty programs have expiring points, that happen to expire just before you get to the tier when things get interesting. And when you do save up to the food stuff you find out the app is a lot better at collecting loyalty points and doesn't work so great at exchanging them.

  • If it gets hit by a block of wood that has a few nails in it, it will jam and fall out of the sky.

  • So the administration figures there are a lot of protests going to happen soon, and urgently needs some muscle without oversight teaching them protesting against Trump King Donald the First is a bad idea.

  • China has been working toward that superpower status for some time. They're a lot more ambitious than the leaders in the EU and much more brazen.

  • They can just get the summary for Project 2025 and start checking things off. It's not a mystery unless they're being wilfully ignorant.

  • Henceforth known as the actual Jewish Space Laser.

  • It´s why they want a cease fire and a peace agreement, so martial law stops and elections can start again. That doesn´t do away with the whole discussion about what regions of Ukraine are then valid to do an election, such as Crimea, or what to do with all the refugees in other countries.

  • It´s corporations so it´s easy. If the profits to be gained are larger than the price to pay, they´ll return. But with Russia willing to attack Europa and corps getting sanctioned, it might not be that profitable.
