Some dingbat that occasionally builds neat stuff without breaking others. The person running this public-but-not-promoted instance because reasons.

  • Closest thing I can say to that is when I'm in a sort of half sleep state I'll have a reaction if I happen to dream/think of stepping off something and try and catch myself in real life. Essentially the brain playing tricks on my body.

  • Need to buy that 5th copy of the same media.

  • Way back when full serve gasoline was a thing, and I can currently go to at least one of the big hardware shops here and get a hand loading if it's a lot of stuff or particularly large items. Airlines used to serve steak and flying was treated as a more formal affair.

The overarching point is that as thing go on shops and services have continued this trend of getting more transactional in their handling. There's much more of a 'give me your money and GTFO' than it was. This come a lot from the dominance of places like Walmart killing off competition so you're left with a 'where else can you go' situation.

  • As a general rule I avoid any and all self checkout lanes. You want me to come into your building, find what I'm looking for, cart it around, check myself out, bring it to the car, and in some cases being the cart back inside.

Should I be unloading the delivery trucks and putting it on the shelves for you too? How many fewer employees can you go for?

  • Just the other day he was directing people to draft up how to remove all sanctions on Russia.

Maybe we could find a way to implement a 1 week lag on anything he demands, if it's countermanded in that time then the week starts over again. Kind of like a retractable leash on caption chaos.

  • Yeah, was kind of clunky worded way to say 'no ID', /. Has screen names but in chan world everyone is the same 'anonymous'. When everyone is faceless and nameless people tend to let the ugly out with ease.

edit: I'm not a regular of /. but it looks like there are 'Anonymous Coward' responses, but they're more the exception than the rule. I'm sure the mods there have some measure of trolls to deal with.

  • At this point nobody knows WTF he'll do by this afternoon much less a longer plan, is there any surprise that makes for instability?

  • Step 1: short a bunch of stocks likely to affected by blanket tariffs

Step 2: "I'm enacting a massive across the board tax" causing prices to fall

Step 3: close the shorts for a gain, buy newly lowered stock aft market dip. Announce 'compromise' that brings indexes back up

Step 4: Sell and profit a second time, prepare to return to step 1

  • You can make anonymous accounts, but there's a difference between 'breadguy' and 'anon'. Who is literally everyone posting on the board. In the chan world so called namefags are shunned and not thought of as true channers. By having an identifiable name it gives you some measure of reputation, a name that you may hold some regard for, or at least that others could decide if they want to listen to or block.

I actually like to think of the chan boards as an experiment in social studies. What happens when you allow for purely repression and repercussion free interaction? There are plenty of people who will say and do some absurd things when they're drunk that they wouldn't dare to sober. What happens when that sense of untouchability is available at any time just by going to a website.

  • Anyplace that allows, or in the case of 4chan, encourages purely Anon posting is going to be a cesspit. When there's no accountability, no ID of any sort (even a screen name) to tie actions against then there's no reputation to protect. It might be pleasant at first, but you can bet it won't stay that way for long.

  • We should use this to describe earthquakes.

  • Sex cruises to where? The complaints of shrinkage will be legendary.

  • Somehow I doubt Trump would give a damn about MN, NY, and MI (although he won MI, Detroit would be competition to his buddy) and would just say it was the fault of blue state policies.

  • I was wondering if someone might recognize that

  • The chair is against the wall and John has a long moustache.

  • Yeah, but I'm probably more ancient than those get whatever that means...

  • I don't worry about votes, particularly when the post came from a .ml user it's a given to be chaotic. Usually don't mark things myself much.

Working on the party should be constant and noisy and needs a full overhaul, but at the moment of decision refusing to act by staying home says to me that all the yelling before was just show because they didn't care enough to make a choice of 'better than' even if not perfect.
