  • My brother what can they do?? They put diplomatic pressure and sanctions in place but there's nothing more a country can do to influence another nation.

There are US and EU sanctions in Venezuela since years. But they still manage to live in their limited space.

Saudi Arabia is an Absolute Monarchy. They have a king and all that bullshit. The king is a de facto dictator BY DESIGN. that's their constitution.

What do you expect us to say?? "hey, how about you abolish your whole political system? Because you know... We kinda don't like it"

I don't like it either bro but it is what it is. We have to live with that bullshit. Unfortunately there is no solution to everything

Name a dictator that gets political support from the EU

  • Remember to be your enemy's best friend!

when you criticize someone your objective is to help them form a better opinion. If you simply point out that their opinion is wrong it's likely that they will consider your argument as an attack on their values or self. At this point the argumentation is of no value

Instead talk to them like you would talk to your best friend. Listen and try to understand where their concern comes from, and ask questions that make them have to analyse their own opinions.

You need to help them see what their biases/emotions won't let them. It takes patience and compassion.

  • Western powers are willing to recognise Putin as the ruler of the Russian Federation

"A European Union spokesman said the elections were not properly monitored, nor conducted in a free and fair way. The governments of the UK, Germany and the US echoed this." -BBC on the Russian 2021 elections

    Here's the article

This has always happened in the past Russian elections. The EU doesn't push harder on this topic because they know these efforts won't influence Russia

On Venezuela however, there's a lot more chance that international pressure will cause changes. Maduro GTFO!

  • What's to see?

I wish people would see past the idea that millionaires are evil people (and yeah they are), and understand that the root of this issue is on the economic/governmental system that allows people to hoard this much wealth

Yes it's dystopian as fuck how much money he's able to make. But that's not a result of him being evil or something. That's a result of how the advertisement Industry works.

He's just a guy that mastered the YouTube game and is doing what he's good at. He could retire or take a more relaxed work routine and still be a millionaire. But he works a lot to make more YouTube content because he likes it.

I don't like Mr. Beast. But don't think he's doing anything unethical

  • Doesn't matter how much you bomb Mexico. If there is a demand for drugs there will be a supply. No matter the price. A drug addict will do ANYTHING to get it

Cutting the supply would only work if you're somehow able to cut almost all supply for 30 years straight, until the currently addicted people die off or sort themselves out

To stop the drugs you need to stop the demand for drugs. Treat addicts instead of arresting them. And oh my god stop prescribing literal Opioids as "treatment"

  • The point here is not that this comment hurts trump in some way. But that it hurts democracy. It favors violence over reason.

Many believe that the world might be better if trump was dead, but on the other side, if assassination is an acceptable solution to politics then democracy is destroyed.

The people that are against Trump are also against fascism. And supporting his murder is contradictory and essentially hurts your own cause.

Choosing to be fair and respectful to your enemy is the best course of action. Even though it might be extremely frustrating.

  • Pulls existence from the void

This point is highly dependent on whether or not you believe there is some sort of soul or existence before birth. I cannot argue on this point since this is pure belief, so I will accept your view for the sake of the discussion

Questions how not doing so could have prevented suffering

You could say it prevents suffering, but it also prevents Joy, Love, Friendship. Sure it also prevents Sadness and Grief and so on. It prevents everything by way of not giving life a chance.

If you think you cannot provide a happy life to your children then it's perfectly valid to not want children. But it's egoistic to think that other people should not have kids because of your own world view.

Many Antinatalists believe that life in the current world is filled with so much suffering that it's not worth being born.

But that's like... Your opinion man! Let people make their own choices

  • I don't think that this is AI. In fact I'm curious to how it was made

  • It's absolutely fine if you don't want to have kids

I don't agree with the Antinatalist idea that having children is immoral. Or that Antinatalism reduces suffering.

    If I'm incorrect please elaborate

  • The context doesn't make a difference

    In base 10 --> 1/3 is 0.333...

    In base 12 --> 1/3 is 0.4

But they're both the same number.

Base 10 simply is not capable of displaying it in a concise format. We could say that this is a notation issue. No notation is perfect. Base 10 has some confusing implications

  • Divide 1 by 3: 1÷3=0.3333...

    Multiply the result by 3 reverting the operation: 0.3333... x 3 = 0.9999.... or just 1

    0.9999... = 1

  • I did not mean to justify Israel's actions by pointing out Hamas's attack.

I agree that Israel has the sole power to stop this conflict. Every day they refuse to do some sort of ceasefire deal is a slaughter caused by Israel alone.

Netanyahu is likely prolonging the war due to political pressure and IMO should be considered a terrorist as well

  • As another comment noted. If Hamas had more firepower they would use more firepower.

They are not morally Superior to Israel.

Hamas started a conflict with an obviously more powerful military. They knew there would be consequences but they still chose violence over diplomacy. Obviously diplomacy in the middle east is terrible but I would never think that attacking civilians is a viable alternative to diplomacy.

  • The history of Palestine is super messy. All sides have committed terrible acts to the other, coming back hundreds of years. Each side can always look at recent history and claim X has provoked Y or Y has caused a disaster on X.

You can claim this was a provoked attack. I for once can hardly justify an attack on civilians. You can argue, Israel has done worse in the past, and while each side is biased, perhaps you'd be right.

My point is. This is an endless discussion

Both sides are bad. IMO the best outcome at the moment is to stop the conflict as soon as possible

  • Man what a terrible choice of words.

By your standards I could provide a counter argument like: Has any Israeli launched an unprovoked attack on Palestinians and kidnapped 300 of them?

And then I sit on my biased moral throne and feel the meaningless superiority of my argument

Reality is not black and white. Both sides are bad

Hamas launched a horrible slaughter of civilians. they knew it would have consequences. The IDF would obviously retaliate but they are using too much force and causing extreme suffering

This war should stop as soon as possible. There is nothing to gain in prolonging this conflict

  • An icon represents what the people think it represents.

An icon can also have different meanings to different people. It's ok if you don't like it. But I don't think it's fair to say that the majority of people that use or share Pepe are from one specific ideological group

  • They have a regular spicy ramen, which is more spicy than what most people can take, and then there's 2x, double the amount of chilly from the regular one. And the 3x you can guess what it is.

I've had the 2x before and it's uncomfortably hot but my criticism is that the overall taste of this brand of ramen is not that great.
