This is exactly why I don't take libs seriously when they handwave with "Blame the govt. not the people" but then turn around and ok this type of shit.
I get that, but from a surface level view, a Westerner seeing or hearing the words "King ...." and "Prince ..." when referring to a leader in the Gulf will likely lead them to assume A) they are "tribal" unlike "our civilized" ass and B) that every single West Asian/North African nation is ruled via monarchy held by a tribe. Which is fucking silly as hell.
But that's what BRICS is working on. Not going to say that I have any semblance of economic knowledge, but rapid dedollarization would mean countries would likely be pushed to agree to trade using local currency of respective countries.
Short term, it'll be hard, uphill struggle. Long-term though? It'd be amazing for the Global South.

NATO is not a defensive pact regardless of how much marketing campaigns (read: Western propaganda) is churned out. Look up what they did in Yugoslavia and Libya for good examples of their "defensiveness".

They see Gulf comprador states and project the wildest imaginations of governance (and pretty much everything else) on the entirety of WANA and Central Asia. Many such cases.
