  • If you want to actually fully degoogle, you wouldn't want to use Revanced. Revanced just patches the official YouTube App.

I personally use NewPipe when watching on my phone, but I do have Revanced YouTube installed as well just for casting to my TV. Convenience for me.

  • Different use. Feeder only works locally.

Read You can sync with multiple types of RSS servers. I love using it with FreshRSS. Great for people who use multiple devices.

  • On expensive ER bills that only exist because people couldn't afford to visit a GP five years earlier and get some cheap off the shelf preventive medicine.

A few years ago, I went to the ER because I was feeling abnormally unwell. Sat in the ER for an hour then nurse finally took me into a room. They had to leave to do something immediately after putting me in a room. Sat there for 15 minutes and realized that my body was starting to feel much better so I left.

I got a $3000 bill after insurance. The hospital declined my financial assistant application to get my bill reduced because they said I made too much money. I made $16/hr at the time in an expensive metro area. Ended up paying it off on a 3 year plan.

  • I've used this movie for movie night multiple times and people who come always love it!

  • I don't recall it ever being a dead project. They did have a time period where you had to either join the beta on Play Store, obtain the beta on Github releases, or use F-Droid and install the beta. They were working on integrating certain things and rewrites before doing an official release.

It was a pinned issue in their issue tracker.

The whole 5.7xx series were betas, and 5.800 started the official releases again

  • Ever since the Reddit exodus, so many people joined Lemmy who just assumes everyone lives in the US.

"My rent is only $----/mo". In what currency? A lot of countries use $.

I noticed that sometimes comments asking "What currency?" or "What country?" gets downvoted even though the original post / comment isn't obvious that they are talking specifically about US :(

  • If you use a Firefox account, you should be able to sync your history and stored passwords.

I use Fennec from F-Droid as well.

    • App Size: 283 MB
    • User Data: 743 MB
    • Cache: 143 MB
    • Total: 1.17 GB

Don't know why you have so much user data. Maybe one of your extensions?

  • I'm all for smart appliances, but a smart washing machine is a solution in search of a problem.

I personally love smart washers, they are a solution to the problem that we used to have at home.

We have 5 adults at home. The app lets us know if it's being used or not, and lets us know how much longer left.

Also let's us remind the other person to move their stuff in the washer to the dryer.

I personally do not want to walk over to our laundry room in the garage not connected to our house to check each time to see if it's available, then walk back to my room to grab my laundry, then bring it to the laundry room

I would prefer if everything was able to be used on a local network instead though. Like a Samsung machine that hosts a local server where data never leaves the home and still works.

  • Started? Been having that issue for months now. It only works on VPN if you're logged on.

Certain VPN servers can go through it they haven't implemented a block for it yet. AirVPN launched some new servers that worked for a bit, but Reddit blocked them a few weeks later.

  • Huh, that's strange. On my 3 Android devices, I downloaded the APK from the website, and it always auto-updates.

It existed ever since they added the APK to their website as a compromise for people who don't want to get Signal from the Play Store.

  • Why would you need to use obtanium to get the Signal apk file from that link?

You can just download the apk from that website and install it. The app can update itself.

  • I find it interesting that yours is com.google.android.devicelockcontroller.

I checked mine on GrapheneOS and it looks like it's the AOSP version of the package: com.android.devicelockcontroller

  • Are you looking at system apps? It's installed as a system app on my phone using GrapheneOS

    com.android.devicelockcontroller

Looks like it's an AOSP app

  • If you like Thunderbird, I recommend checking out Betterbird fork as well that adds more features.

  • Why not just bookmark the tabs? Put them in a folder in your bookmark bar called "To Do" or something and they'd all be right there.
