A fair take, if one I have a few caveats with. I would contend that AI artists, should such a thing truly emerge, are explicitly experts in pulling art from an AI that a layman cannot accomplish.
That being said, again, it is a fair take, and certainly influenced the copyright judgment.
Created by the artist. An artist using AI is no different than an artist using AfterEffects or other processing medium. Using your example, it's essentially saying "Earth" made a beautiful picture and not the cameraman.
Without the human element manipulating the AI, the AI is presently worthless. If we ever create AGI that can create art on its own, then we have a real discussion on our hands.
Luddites who are mad that AI is beginning to show promise can hate all they want, but this is the reality.
He bought a piece of convenience tech designed for a specific piece of software, when said convenience tech is totally unnecessary to the function of that software, then got mad that he needed the software
I am shocked that everyone in this thread isn't roasting this dude nonstop. He's an idiot.
The gig economy is less precarious for the people that choose it because it fits their schedule. That's why they choose it. Jobs aren't exactly hard to get right now - they'd do something else if they wanted to.
Also uber drivers don't make less money than taxi drivers. On average, they make about the same.
In what way does the logistics revolution spurred by Amazon's growth not massively benefit every person who buys anything in the US? You're seriously suggesting with a straight face, that Microsoft hasn't saved literally hundreds of millions of lives just in database tech alone?
You're talking out of your ass here man. Hell, you're putting billionaires on par with running a government which is simply absurd.
It's not on rich people to save the fucking world, though Bill Gates has personally done more for the world than most governments ever have. It's on voters to pass policies that provide them better lives. That's the point of democracy
The moment you start talking about the rich being the cause of our problems, there’s a section of society that starts tuning you out.
That's because this is an insane claim.
If we actually get to the point of agreeing that excessive wealth is inherently misanthropic and should be a crime in and of itself
This is a massive "If." I could probably never be convinced that one person's wealth is inherently detrimental to someone else's well-being.
These are very extreme views. I support the Hollywood strike, my buddy is a union leader (as were both my parents), and I'm a reliably Democrat voter, and I couldn't disagree more with what you've said above.
Public transit is better, but self-driving taxis are absolutely coming to every city in this country, which is great if you live in a city like mine that has little to no public transport infrastructure.
Also, automated taxis can service more rural areas, which is the key driver of lack of public transport in many "commuter cities."
Luddites gonna Luddite, but this tech is coming, and it's coming to logistics and taxis first.
Roughly 1.5% of Americans make minimum wage, and the jobs are minimum wage because they require no training whatsoever and anyone with a pulse can do it.
I can't wait to retire when I'm 208 years old.
