  • This is last year. There are claims that they did it again this year.

  • Republicans threaten to do so in the US about once a year now.

  • The money is based on faith. If people lose faith, it's worthless and the US is in fact bankrupt. Taking on the entire world in a trade war and then passing a huge tax cut at the same time makes people think the country is unstable and they lose faith.

  • Something no one seems to realize is that the poorest people in the South don't drink municipal water in the first place. These people already have horrible teeth. I've seen it first hand and it's honestly more that they often live in food deserts and their diets are literally honey buns and mountain dew. This is much ado about nothing.

  • That is a cosmetic defect with no benefit. You do not need fluoride during tooth development. 40% of all cases of fluorosis are caused by public water fluoridation. Just another reason to end it.

  • On a population level, I believe they have found that the 2x current fluoridated water levels that OC mentions cause a 1 point drop in IQ. This is huge on a population level.

  • 2x is not very much wiggle room for something that causes neurological impairment. Countries that do not fluoridate their water have seen the same cavity decline as the countries that do, most likely due to education about good dental hygiene.

  • This is false. Fluoride is not absorbed in the body and transported to the teeth. It only works on contact with dental surfaces. You do not need fluoride to develop "strong" teeth. It only works on the exposed enamel. Growing teeth would only be impaired if the child had some other disease or deficiency, like calcium. Fluoride does nothing for developing future adult teeth.

  • San Andreas was peak. 5 was better than 4, IMO. Worse than Vice City and I think you have rose colored memories thinking 3 is better than 5. 3 was janky and fairly linear.

  • Rockstar lost of the most creative talent that made it what it is between RDR2 and VI. We'll see if this next generation can live up to the pedigree. This will be their first release without Dan Houser.

  • Yeah, they haven't released a good game in over a decade.

  • This is false. The processed food that makes up a majority of our modern staples is well known for being nutritionally deficient. A significant portion of the population is deficient in things like iron, calcium, magnesium, and omega 3s.

  • Really doesn't matter and you're missing the point. I agree there was obvious voter suppression. But it was probably 1% swing at most. She might have squeaked out a win if the math works out in hypotheticals... at the end of the day it doesn't matter.

Point is, she could have easily crushed Trump if she had appealed to a better narrative. She stuck with the status quo and ultimately that was about as equally appealing to voters as fascism...

  • Pakistan is essentially the cornerstone of Xi's Belt Road Initiative from the last decade. It's India 100%.

  • Oh nice, we agree he's racist then.

  • Tbf, it's been in decay since Reagan. Long time coming to get here. Trump was inevitable when we didn't address inequality, lowered taxes on the wealthy, and allowed Citizen's United.

  • Yeah, everyone underestimates climate impact and the fact that we are already past points of no return. It feeds into the cultural nihilism we have today. We're kinda doomed. People just dissociating and pointing fingers at each other. The system is designed to cater to sociopathy and no good leaders can rise to the top to navigate us around the icebergs we're headed straight towards.

  • Medical research.

  • Oh yeah, I guess that proves he's not racist. /s
