  • Sorry, hats was supposed to be jars. I got autocorrectifucked. The image on the bottom right is just for decorative fun. Is inspired by/based on the design in that big map viewer they use in the 1986 film Aliens. I enjoy a cassette-punk vibe for my label style.

    Your labels are cool! How big are they? How’s do you like that label maker, and was it expensive? What file types does it use?

  • I’m thinking of starting out in that imadethis community, since I’m already in it, and it’s a nice group, and I doubt there are many of us dorky label people out there. I like to make fun labels for my prescriptions, kitchen spices, etc. working on one now in fact. Will post when I’m done. It’s kicking my butt a little bit, so I’m taking a break.

  • On paper, the best one is the Brother P-Touch Cube. And there are a wide variety of different colored 3rd party label tapes available to avoid paying the brother tape markup. And it does varying widths of tape up just under 1”. The iOS app for label making that it works with is trash. The Mac app is pretty bad, but after a good amount of practice, I am getting pretty good with it, and am discovering new things often. I hear the windows app is pretty great, but I haven’t tried it, nor the android app.

  • Oh fuck me sideways, now I understand. And hate it more. I have not, and will not, update my home computer to this nonsense. Foolishly, I updated my work laptop though. Now, the vast majority of times I grab a corner to resize, even when I get the double arrows, it doesn’t resize and instead moves the entire window for some reason. Truly Apple hates us and wants to punish us for loving their products for so long.

  • Other than the white on slightly lighter white Mac menus, the thing that drives me nuts on the phone is that it never feels like I’m really pushing buttons. It feels like I’m stabbing at a blob of gel and hoping that I hit it the right way to get what I want. And oftentimes I don’t. It’s maddening.

  • This happened to me a couple of times when I lived in Rhode Island, but only if I accidentally left my truck unlocked. Then someone would steal whatever change was in there. Now I live in rural northern Maine, and I don’t even have to lock my front door, much less my truck. This probably isn’t very helpful; I’ll see myself out.
