Dit is een bio. C'est un bio.

  • So I'm guessing I should expect something familiar when trying out Döner. Thank you for this info.

  • Imagine if this is the only content allowed on Lemmy Shitpost.

  • I thought it was a giant pea. As in these things: 🫛

  • Kinda reminds me of shawarma. I haven't tried Döner Kebab just yet to compare, but I'd like to try it out.

  • I love the Sporty Rooster.

  • Donald goes rogue.

  • First there was the Arab Spring.

    Then the Balkan Spring.

So this is... the American Spring? Sounds like a brand of bottled water.

  • To quote Margaret Thatcher, "a man who doesn't own a car by the age of 26 can count himself a failure."

I heavily disagree with that statement. Everyone has reasons not to drive. From disability, to cities being designed for walking and public transport, to being opposed to the pollution that is caused as a result of it, to not wanting to participate in traffic congestion, to not being able to fucking afford one, to being so bad at driving that you just give up after failing that license test multiple times, or to simple personal preference. Are all these people failures apparently? How does that make sense? Well, I guess the people who give up after failing the license test are, but everyone else??

  • I have mysteriously vanished for like 2 or so months now (which is a good thing, please take breaks from the internet every once in a while), I don't really remember NOT being kind here.

And this post reminds me of why Lemmy is a good place to begin with.

  • Sad.

  • My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy A32, the last in the A3x line that has one. It's really nice to have a headphone jack because... well, you plug your pair in, and it just works. You don't have to worry about Bluetooth connections, or another battery that will die one day that you constantly have to recharge. Also, you get FM radio functionality on your phone, which isn't really useful, but it's pretty fun to mess with. I'm surprised Apple never had it on the iPod Touch despite the Nano and Classic both having it (some with a special accessory that unlocks the feature, some have it built in).

Also, support for my phone ends on Android 13 (One UI 5.1), meaning if I want new features (or even emoji updates), I have to get a newer phone, and that means either getting a lower tier model to keep that headphone jack at the cost of performance, or getting the same tier (or higher) at the cost of the jack. And I was never convinced by other Android phone manufacturers either, especially since companies like OnePlus don't sell their products in my country, so my options are either Samsung, Google, or a whole bunch of Chinese companies, many have really terrible skins of Android. Either that or I get an iPhone, and none of the ones that are currently supported have the headphone jack. So I guess I'm sticking with my A32 until the day it nukes itself.

  • In my country, which is Morocco, the organ of love isn't the heart, it's the liver.

My mom sometimes calls me "lkbida diali" which just translates to "my liver".

  • Lemmino. Wait, a Swedish YouTuber already uses that name.

  • I don't listen to podcasts that much, but I am a big fan of the Lingthusiasm podcast. I was actually introduced to it by none other than Tom Scott (although he doesn't really host it himself).

  • Canada is already a state... a SOVEREIGN state.

  • I love how Northern Ireland is south of the Irish Republic, yet every other country is accurate.

  • My favorite PPG villain, honestly.

  • Send Faouzia please. She's badass.

I know everyone in the Eurovision fandom keeps telling me that Morocco should participate again and have her as the representative, but nah, I think Canada is the better choice (I am Moroccan).

  • Or better yet, visit Canada and every other EU country with just one visa, instead of several dozen for each. Yeah, not every EU country is part of Schengen, and there are non-EU countries that are, but I always thought this is cool.

My country does require a visa for EU entry despite being literally 14km away from one of its members, separated only by the Strait of Gibraltar, so I'm not really that lucky. But I least I wouldn't have to go through the tedious visa application process all over again.
