  • The danger with self hosting is that police can always steal everything from you.

    Felt weird hearing story of my ex that the german customs office just stole their Laptop and Phone. She couldn't show me pictures and she hadn't any backups or smth.

    I am afraid this could happen to me too when they suspect something but are wrong at the end. At the entire time I will not have access to my drives of my server and maybe they accidentally break them. Not sure if they will believe me that its a raid 1, I can imagine them stealing everything without questioning.

    So the answer is neither. There are more countries that are far more superior.

    Its also stupid to question if I want a bad country-1 or bad country-2. Why do I need to decide between two of the worst countries? Why can't I look for something far and obviously better? Just because they are the loudest or are looking like the complete opposite?

    Its like questioning if someone wants the red hell or the yellow hell. Why do I want to have a hell at all?

  • Well, it doesn't matter their intention. One person owns everything and can always change his mind, which would not be possible compared to other countries that are somewhat seen as capitalistic.

    I am unsure about america as america is a huge mess and is just the worst.

  • Sucks when the gov doesnt like you and just decides to kick you out, because you dont own anything in "communistic" countries compared to "democratic" or highly capitalistic countries... wait, I dont think you own your own house either in america compared to EU countries. Additionally some EU countries give you high safety and home when you lose everything.

  • You can only join a single chat/channel. You may join multiple ones at the same time but the idea is more heavy with too much decision making while on Discord, you just join a server and have hundrets of Chat Channels together with voice channels to join and create. Additionally the survey on whay roles you want and what channel topics you want to see. Matrix is not even similar, its entirely different.
