  • Multi-Billionaire Warren Buffett said, "There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning."

  • Who knew that changing your profile pictures, sharing hashtags, and finding like minded people in your bubble to doompost with to tell eachother youre right doesn't actually address any real problems. Another way this was described is called the Information–action ratio... Which essentially means "meant to indicate the relationship between a piece of information and what action, if any, a consumer of that information might reasonably be expected to take once learning it"

Back in the day, most news was local which meant that the information you were given could lead to actionable results directly. Now because you have the entire world beamed at you instantly, everyone is bombarded with information where no real action can be taken. This leads to a feeling of helplessness, which in turn causes this cycle of denial and inaction to accelerate. It's all very much an intended effect of the modern news cycle. Over time it leads to a certain collective numbness towards very real issues and in a way kind of normalizes things by making you forget the past. Just think about the major stories over the past few months and how many of those are largely gone out of the current narrative. This is all by design and based on years of psychological studies and social engineering.

  • What's the problem, it seems to be appropriately sized for Little Marco

  • Starbucks is a company that sells sugar for a lot of money. Who cares what happens to them.

  • You can't datamine everyone and sell it off as completely as you can with an app running locally on the device. Browser apps are far less profitable across the board. It's all about money.

  • The movie wasn't very good either

  • He may not be elected but he paid the guy who got elected a ton of money, so that's basically the same as being elected... Right? Right?!?

  • Ask not what your immune system can do for you, but what you can do for your immune system

  • The entire system wants you to forget about Luigi and the entire issue. Sort of memory hole it like so many other things and let them punish him in secret. So it's no surprise Reddit and others will try to Streisand it.

  • This is a truly insane story and a very real example of an authoritarian police state. He is being arrested for expressing his opinion, which is not a crime, and the police will not state which crime he is accused of committing, only that due to his freedom of expression and speech, the State Department was told to revoke his visa. Which apparently puts someone into a nightmare situation of being transported to a private prison in another state while waiting to be deported. Which might be able to all be done without ever charging him with a crime, much less proving anything in a court of law. The only thing is the false accusation he is a Hamas supporter of some kind, which itself isn't even a crime unless you send them money. Being against a genocide or forced exodus is not about being for the government of the place being targeted. It's a false equivalence. In fact, in the United States, you have the right to support reprehensible groups like Hamas. Just ask the State Department, Mossad, the CIA and others, who for many years financially supported them as they ran Palestine. Obviously this changed after October 7th, but it's still a fact. Now you have this guy being targeted like a police state with no rights at all and who knows what will happen to him now.

It also says a lot that New York allowed him to be taken to Louisiana and put in a private prison without any charges being filed. I guess ICE can just do that without the normal process of an arrest and extradition. This of course would have required actually charging him with a crime. Rubio said it has to do with his reprehensive support of Hamas, which isn't proven, then he went on to try to pin awful things Hamas has done on him. Even if he does support Hamas, which is wrong to do, it's still an administration that is trying to bring back the nazi salute, saying you can't openly support an anti-israeli regime. So much for the Constitution. And by the way, even on a student visa, just by virtue of being in this country you are afforded certain protections under the Constitution and due process must be one of those. Where's the crime?

  • Canada needs a Dennis Rodman to send over to try to get the hostages back like Obama did with North Korea

  • It's so obvious the democratic party lied about Biden to get through the nomination phase and used the fact that the money already donated for the campaign was specifically to Biden or Harris and would not have easily been given over to any other new candidate. You do have to wonder, especially after how Trump was greeted by them, just what actually happened here. The fact is that the truth about Bidens condition should have been known, he should have decided not to run, and the Democratic party should've had a real primary for real candidates and new ideas. Tim Walz was as bad of a VP pick as Tim Kaine. The white guy as VP to shore up the right wing vote is a total myth. Biden was kind of the first one, then Tim Kaine, then Tim Walz. It just doesn't work. Neither will Newsoms podcast attempt at finding common ground which he hopes will translate into moderate votes. Democrats really have no clue just how bad things are about to get...

  • The wealthy will make an example out of him. Meanwhile, they will continue holding up Daniel Penny as the right kind of extrajudicial murderer.

  • Yes and there was nothing really worth saving. Throw it all away and start over. It's fine.

  • Can they make Google list Canada as a state along with Greenland, then we won't have to invade???

  • For someone that demanded the 2014 borders for the past few years, this is a concession. Odds are that Putin wants all of Ukraine even if Russia has to stop where they are for a few years and repeat the 2014 playbook. It's very surprising Russia hasn't been able to push past the current positions. However, they are close to taking certain important cities and the highways.

Another possibility is if Ukraine has elections and chooses another pro Russian president. Then you would have the largest army in Europe equipped with Western weapons potentially switch sides and on to other former USSR states.

  • The current moment is like the recent wildfires. All this trash built up over the years and it sort of has to have its time to burn out. Everything just has to find a way to survive it until it runs out of fuel. When the pendulum swings back the other direction, just be ready to rebuild from the natural disaster.
