  • Building a pc has no bearing on what a programm does or how some software works. With win11 as a tech savy person i alwas struggle to find where to do things that i knew in the old gui. Windows isnt better because of gui. Its just that people always used it and know where stuff is. The next generation of kids that grew up on phones will not know how to do things in windows. Learning a console command is not more difficult than knowing a gui. The only hard part is knowing what program is used for what purpose, if you have no idea that pacman is your package manager you cant write pacman -h for the help text but the same is true with guis, if you dont know the icon for your purpose you cant run it. The biggest problem i see with people is that they just dont want to read something. I have people who were developing apps for/on windows before and if they get a error in the linux console they dont read it at all and just put sudo in front of it or ask chatgpt.

  • Lol natos war against it? Who attacked again? I thought they had a bunch of tanks and other stuff or is it just nukes now?

  • But the cheap tools arent really effective are they? The 2 day offensive iss at how many years now? Russian refineries are being struck deep inside their country and russia has lost valuable weapons when olayna was attacked. Russia is in full war economy mode. While fighting against ukraine, so i dont see how the cheap tools are effective. If a little of russias claimed military power was true they would have just invaded ukraine in a few days like they said. Whats happening doesnt make any economic sense for russsia. The amount of monetary damade is so big that not using the big guns to save money is just dumb.

The ssoviet union was always overselling its military capabilety from what russia has accomplished to this point it really seems like they are still doing that.

  • So russia just doesnt value the life of their solders or why dont they use the good kit to just win if they have it and its so good? Why are they fine with so many casualties?

  • Yea thats them, they have a channel where they do lots of cool stuff with resin, can only recommend!

  • Even and katelyn?

  • True, but who is gonna go to their car dealers mechanic if you can just read a errorcode.

  • No you dont get it, its bad design if you have to read. Also why are there 3847436189347 different lamps that indicate something now? Thats bad design. Oh why do i not know what the single error lamp means and what exactly is broken?bad design.....

All because people dont want to rtfm.

  • Propably easier to desolder them and soldering on new ones.

  • The last person that startet in our department and decided to go while they still can said "you can only stack shit that high.." and i think its beatifull... imagine a codebast that startet in assembly bad c code with lots of hardware specific shit and the demand to always ship features to old systems build byy electrical engineers who didnt know better.

I hope in like 10 years i will understand how all of the stacked shit works...

  • Spacecraft? Minecraft?

  • I use isopropanol regularly for cleaning flux off boards after soldering, it is fine and with 5v you wont fry it if it is still a little wet. Just clean it off good then let it dry and if you have concerns wait a little longer. You should be able to feel if there is stuff left in the keys.

  • First energy usage is not watts, second you can look via tools like hwinfo or others how much power your cpu draws. Where did i say it would draw 6.5w at 10%?

  • Dude go measure your cpu usage while scrolling a site i can watch a high res video with cpu usage under 10% measuring the difference between no active program and only the os is nearly impossible. Why dont you go and log your cpu power for doing this vs only your os running and report back? If your cpu usage keeps being above say 25% while loading a normal site without funky stuff going on, something is weird. Also keep in mind that even if one of your cores is boosting for a second you cpu usage as a whole over time is still low and low power draw at low clocks will benefit you.

  • Yea exactly, you load a page your cpu will boost for 1% of the time you spend on that page while loading it and then idle at a few Mhz for your os. I dont get the "it doesnt idle". With a slim linux system it propably idles a lot more than with win11.

  • If the system is powered the cpu is always doing something. Idle doesnt mean that your pc is off it just means no "real" load. Modern cpus are so powerfull that browsing the web is no real cpu load. It may be a few % difference than just the os itself but windows backround tasks will propably make more impakt on the cpu load.

  • Enlighten me! When is a cpu idleing?

  • Ahh yes idle=not using computer and using computer=100% cpu usage. There is no such thing as "reading a pdf document" or "surfing the web".

  • The problem is just the infinity fabric that connects the chiplets. Afaik this is because its clock runs at a consstant speed and its made on a way bigger node. The monolithic parts dont have that problem.
