For your experience to be a happy one, the experience is not primarily reliant on what is being experienced being something which brings happiness to you, it is the you, which is experiencing, that needs to be of happiness.

So, although the outer world affects the inner being and a better world will improve the inner experience for many and is therefore a just cause, the search for a life of personal happiness is primarily about the situation within you and not the situation around you. - PunkMonk

  • I feel very much the same way and I think you're right. I did not understand the whole moderate or left wing of fascism concept until these past few months and now that I do, I see that Bernie is absolutely not an ally. As America becomes more fascist so do it's defenders with it.

  • And when he talks of the US people, do you think he internally includes the genocided native American's as part of that? Probably not.

  • we are approaching the peakslop, we will reminisceslop back on this timeslop and tell ourselves we didn't know how luckslop we really were

  • CPC secretly buddhist confirmed

  • I know this is a late reply (I was just scrolling through top posts all time on this sub and came across this comment) but S4A is still making these claims dogmatically.

Something I heard from him a month or two ago was, and I am somewhat paraphrasing here, "If the communist party you are part of believes China is socialist then that party is revisionist and thus not a real Marxist-Leninist party and you should leave that party."

He is so stubborn in his subjective opinion being objective fact no matter how many people tell him otherwise, no matter how much evidence their is they are socialist, no matter how little them being capitalist makes sense when you really analyse their society, their people, their system, their ideas.

It would have to be that either there is only one exact way to do socialism-communism and any slightest deviation on markets at all makes you not, or that over 1 billion people are brainwashed or, if they are not brainwashed, they are lying to the world constantly about the way their country works. Make it make sense.

  • I have been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 this week for the first time and part of the game is blacksmithing your own tools, it has this whole well-designed minigame for making badass weapons and you have to buy your own materials for it, make the gear properly so it is high quality and then find somewhere to sell it or use it yourself, if you do use it yourself you also have to repair it over time on this little sharpening wheel thing.

It is so rewarding and freeing to be able to work when you want, for yourself and then be rewarded properly for your hard work and feel the pride of your own ability! I know real life working is not as simple as it is in this game but it really made it click for me that our relations to production, our exploitation as workers, our necessity to work to survive rather than to thrive all make working go from a mostly positive to a mostly negative for the majority of individuals.

If we could all live with relative comfort as a guarantee and then have our own self-employed trades we are passionate to make extra money for ourselves and our community, life would be pretty good as it turns out, someone should write a manifesto about this 'community-ism' thing.

  • or the "this isn't real capitalism, Adam Smith would've hated this" type of take

  • You cannot expect the bootlicker's to promote something which goes against the boot, at least not often. There are thousands of horror stories like these from every capitalist country every year that get buried. If you want more people to know about it, then do what you can with what platform you have, and the rest is entirely out of your control - another reason to fight for revolution.

  • It's scary though, the same shit is kind of happening in the UK and I just hope it leads to something good one day

  • I know being dogmatically anti-US everything is, well, dogma but yeah Iran is probably going to get worse off from these protests. Their current leadership is far from perfect but at least they're not monarchal puppets of the west.

  • Have a well-educated ideological preference (everyone has their own opinion on what is most logical and moral) but understand that if you cling to every word and idea you become a dogmatist because you are no longer analysing but just repeating what someone else has told you.

  • I mean, it depends what your definition of leftist is, all the communists I know here in the UK have been very much against the invasion.

    • US is still bad with Trump gone
    • Israel is still bad with Netanyahu gone
    • UK is still bad with Starmer gone
    • France is still bad with Macron gone
    • Capitalist Russia is still bad with Putin gone

It is not the individuals at fault, it is the system and it's ruling class and this is evident if you actually educate yourself, so please do.

  • Gotcha

  • what are the issues you have with him? Just curious as I have engaged with some of his content and not seen any red flags yet myself but it's not like I have thoroughly researched his character

  • even r/conservative on reddit, the vast majority seem to be against it. That might change though once the propaganda goes on overdrive e.g. Fox News.

  • Could it be as simple as that the ultra wealthy want a culture war instead of a class war and so they blur the surface level cultural differences between the two primary classes in capitalist society? Or maybe it's a fascist thing, white unity rather than proletarian unity.
