  • Anyone can make lists there. I've made a few myself.

  • People now think the Americans beat the nazis due to all the Hollywood propaganda.

  • But you can bet we are going to keep discussing Tian'anmen Square instead of Pinochet’s dictatorship, Jeju Island massacre, Indonesian anti-communist purge, etc. It's as if the average person believes anything so long as mainstream media says it.

  • This piece by G. Elliott Morris is the article that prompted me to think more seriously about these issues. In it, Morris argues that modern platforms have undergone an “algorithmic turn” that transformed them from social networks into attention-extraction engines optimized for engagement rather than human connection. He lays out empirical evidence on polarization, radicalization, mental-health harms, and productivity loss; explains how recommender systems distort reality by amplifying ideological extremes; and offers practical steps for reclaiming focus and reducing dependence on algorithmic feeds.

  • Pff, I hate that. It’s the reason I’d never use Mastodon. It’s a waste of time sifting through so much trash. Also, if you display scores you’re a hypocrite, because they influence how you vote.

  • Having the same file in both systems without the file being deleted on both if I delete it in one.

  • I've just realized it's most likely one of many ways they are going to try and fight the shrinking economy due to low fertility rates, aside from surveillance of course.

  • The ideal thing would be if people stopped with the Musk spam, and praising everything he does, but we don't live in an ideal world, so I'm grateful there's at least one person willing to tell the truth about Musk out there.

  • There was a CEO that increased the salary of his employees and got many women pressing charges for rape against him. It's pretty much the same. People with deep pockets paying women to press charges for defamation.

The person is Dan Price, former CEO of Gravity Payments. In 2015 he gained national attention by slashing his personal salary and raising his employees’ minimum pay to US $70,000. (Spokesman-Review) Later he was accused by multiple women of sexual assault, including a 2021 allegation of rape of an unconscious person and other claims of unwanted physical contact. • Sure, keep believing whatever mainstream propaganda feeds you.

  • Again, maybe if you told me a reason instead of just saying a name like everything he says or does is wrong, I'd consider your opinion. Only siths deal in absolutes.
