  • I don’t think it’s an improvement, I think it’s further alienation that will have problems down the line when it produces even more anti social members of society.

  • Yes, but let’s not act that this is nothing but putting on a band aid on the real issue. A real fix would be paying one of the parents a salary to raise their kids until they are of school age at least.

  • This is not a positive thing whatsoever. It’s just another “lefty” vibes policy that only serves capitalist interests. Kids should be raised by their parents not by salaried strangers that don’t really give a fuck about them other than to earn their paycheck.

  • In reference to how socialism will truly come about, Marx literally criticized the kind of thinking that dominates left wing thinking nowadays.

  • No you can’t. It collapses on the weight of its own contradictions. Any imposition of socialism without the right material conditions is doomed.

  • Sometimes I wonder how many “Marxists” really have read Marx.

  • Sure, but countries, societies and communities in general also have a right to exclude and to generally not allow people they don’t want or that they cannot accommodate into their groups. Strong safety nets means a need to carefully manage resources.

  • Rampant immigration good, morally correct and has no consequences ever

You see this is the problem. In real life, two things are often true at the same time. Like not all immigrants being criminals but immigrants committing violent crimes at a higher rate than the native population. I mean if you are gonna claim that the cause isn’t immigration then at least provide a counter reason. The optics are not great statistically:

The reasons can be whatever, you can argue it’s not tied to their culture or their background but it’s because of systemic issues in the country like having less access to social nets. I can accept that and I believe that too. That is still not an argument to allow everyone in willy nilly and then also give them access to social nets so that they become overwhelmed to the point the entire thing collapses. So yeah, immigration needs to be controlled no matter where, but especially in places with strong safety nets.

  • I can’t say if they killed drug dealers or not but drugs are absolutely moved via boats like these. Drones is a lot more advanced that Caribbean drug smugglers usually use.

  • The rhetoric was “we’re going to kick out all these criminal illegal aliens”. People being stupid as they are so fond of being, hear that as “criminals who happen to be immigrants”; instead of what he really meant which is “everyone who is here illegally is breaking the law and therefore is a criminal”.

Trump’s super power is exploiting the average person’s total lack of capacity or willingness to engage in critical thinking.

  • You need to put it in context, many if not most of the denominations that came to America seeking religious freedom did so because continental Christians considered them extremists. So yes, they were seeking it only for themselves.

  • International law is a joke anyways. I say this every post that brings up international law and I’ll continue raising it. If you believe in international law you might as well believe in the power of friendship.

  • Yes that’s the theory of why capitalism good by liberals

  • That was the idea but these federalists man, they keep giving power to the central government and then complain about dictatorship, autocracy and other centralized government problems.

  • I think this is possibly also the problem for me. I compulsively explore, and the more a game has to explore the higher the chances I’ll get tired of it before I even finish it.

  • If Id rather watch a movie or a show I would watch a movie or a show. No, I just don’t like backtracking.

Or more specifically my playstyle forces me back track a lot since I tend to become a systemic explorer, trying to find every nook and cranny of a game due to fomo. I tend to prefer more railroaded experience these days, due to that but that’s not the same as wanting to be a spectator instead of a participant.

  • I love souls games, but other than Blasphemous and Dead Cells, I have struggled to stick with Metroidvanias a lot. I find that they are open in the worst way possible for me, because I can get lost and then spend time “progressing” only to find the way blocked and having to backtrack. These days I have low tolerance for wasting time, or more specifically to the feeling that I’m wasting time.
