  • Rechargeable electric arc lighters kinda suck for the average person, and will typically end up as e-waste.

  • I have personally used an electric lighter for several years primarily for starting campfires. It's definitely less convenient than a traditional lighter but totally works and doesn't need any lighter fluid. I don't personally feel comfortable carrying flammable fuels in my backpack, so electric was a good choice for me

  • If you're technical, you might be able to change out the chipset as WiFi+Bluetooth is usually on an M.2 2230 E-key board on most machines. But agreed that it is very annoying and this isn't feasible for most regular users

  • For c to c cables, the devices need to be able to communicate with each other to establish which one is the host (the charger in this case). With a to c cables, the type a side is assumed to be the host by default. You'll often find that manufacturers of cheaper devices prefer not to spend the extra money to implement this technology, though some will, and in fact allow for even more functionality. For example, one of my flashlights does have that chip, so it can both charge from a c to c cable if a charger is detected, and also automatically act as a power bank if I connect a device to it such as a mobile phone.
