Yeah if I remember the scene right then I share the sentiment. The message was good, the writing and execution of the scene itself though was a little weak. But that's S1 TNG. It has its high moments and it's low moments 😅
The worst are the places that say they have delivery, take you through the whole checkout process on their own site, and then sends you a link to track your order on door dash or something.
They were even more upfront about it in TOS for some issues too.
I remember many instances where they say "We have women in our crew in the future." It's not like DISCO flaunted around saying "we don't hate gay people in this ship."
Like I understand that DISCO isn't everybody's favorite, and sure it has some issues, but all the flak it got for being "woke" and "preachy" was weird to me.
Part of Kirk's whole thing was preachy speeches, and Picard had many moments too.
It's more like "Slapping on the wrist isn't helping." The Alex Jones bankruptcy is the first time I've seen anyone fined significantly to the point of it mattering. Fines are meant to be significant enough that the company would do its best to avoid them. If the fine is palpable, then it's just the cost of doing business.
An (ex) friend of mine refused a breathalyzer when a county sheriff found him sleeping behind the wheel in a parking lot after a day of drinking. Because he refused the test the county revoked his license.
Meanwhile this cop hits a child and nothing happens.
Note to self: if I'm going to commit a crime make sure I'm a cop first.
I agree with the sentiment. I can't stand the smell of people actively smoking cigarettes. Gives me a headache. Places where people just finished smelling or where a lot of smokers were? Don't like that either.
But the occasional house with smells? Almost cozy.
I second OP. From what I've seen, the general consensus is the first two seasons are weak, the last two are pretty strong. Which is pretty on par when compared to other Treks IMO. That's not to say that seasons 1 and 2 don't have good episodes either.
Is it the greatest? No 😅. But it's worth dipping your toes if you're interested. The main reason why I think it's not as well regarded is because of the intro song. But you just gotta have FAITH OF THE HEART 🎶🎸
Sen. McBride or someone else should get a transgender man as an aid or something.
Watch how fast they change their minds when there's a huge, jacked, manly, dude going into the ladies restroom. Bonus points for grunting and making the most aggressive shits.
If Republicans truly saw companies hiring illegal immigrants as an issue, they'd be able to easily crack down on business owners doing the hiring and make the punishment more than just a slap on the wrist.
No, the cruelty towards other humans is the point. They don't care about the non-existent issue.
