RIP kbin.social. We hardly knew ye.

  • I thought Biden had no chance to win before the debate, but the debate wasn't even the killing blow. His campaign was utterly and undeniably dead after the media response to the debate. We can acknowledge whatever other flaws he has or what else might have contributed, but that's what I believe was the point of no return.

    And yes, fuck Trump.

  • Ultimately the problem with Biden wasn't his age (although that was a contributing factor); it was that he wasn't going to win.

Also, Harris is not as blonde as Hillary, and Hillary barely lost, so I like her chances.

  • It looks like there are a few meth gator movies out there, but nobody's done a moose yet. If I were any kind of ambitious I might get that copyrighted. Fair game if anyone wants to use it though; I'd watch it too.

  • Nice. And yeah, it's on Tubi. I think it can be properly reclassified as a documentary given this article here.

  • First off, I get pretty serious about Godzilla movies, so we'll leave that alone out of common decency.

Second, the movie you're describing is a franchise crossover between Cocaine Bear and Cocaine Shark. I heard they're bringing Meth Moose in for the follow up.

  • I assume Cocaine Shark is already a movie on Tubi, but if it isn't give it a couple weeks.

  • Kelly should hold on to his Senate seat for as long as possible. There is zero guarantee that Arizona would send another Democrat to replace him.

  • Not just the primaries; it's going to take a tea party style insurgency into the DNC in order to exact the actual changes that we are looking for. The long play is getting involved in your state level Democratic party apparatus and pushing for better representation of progressive policies in the party platform, and pushing people of progressive persuasions into the DNC. <--- Much inadvertent alliteration.

  • I think that's possible, but I think it was all but guaranteed that anyone who didn't want the repubs to win would have been crying in November if Biden hadn't dropped out.

  • Realpolitik is a son of a bitch, innit?

  • Oh, to be a fly on that wall. I'm sure I'd love it.

  • I think it's neat that they updated his software to be able to interpret slang abstractions. Well on his way to being indistinguishable from an actual human.

  • I'm not sure there's much in the way of branching off from Eneferens. I thought you may have heard of them due to label affiliations. At any rate, glad you are receiving these positively. And yeah, trust that the Hexvessel album is worth some deeper dedicated listening. That's a special album imo; I don't know of anything else that's quite like it.

  • If you care to, let me know what you think of these. I think I'm on the right track, but I'd be curious to hear how these strike you.

  • Ok, I can work with that. If you are a Panopticon fan you may already be familiar with this, but if not it's worth a listen: Eneferens. A little more toward the VVilderness vibe, but essentially purely folk, check out Ekstasis. And to go with the psych vibe, if you haven't heard Hexvessel - Dawnbearer then give that a spin and thank me later.

  • I mean, that was the part of the post that would break the entire universe, so it stood out to me more than the other things.

  • What types of metal do you like? I can try to aim if I have an idea of what you're into.

If I'm going just for an out of the blue rec, maybe try Emptiness - Not For Music if you're not already familiar. Belgian black/death band having turned toward the avant garde have left nearly every indication of their more extreme roots on this album, and it's fantastic. All the tracks are great but if you're looking for the "single" maybe try the track Ever.

  • Gives new context to that saying "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you'll land among the stars."
