  • There's an entire industry of think tanks actually making money to do exactly that.

  • We had a Cajun teacher that claimed to have magic hands and would hover over girls shoulders, and comment on their feet. Real creep, but to my knowledge never went as far as touching.

  • True but it's also not that simple either. Climate change includes things like random mutations of bacteria or viruses. And it may not just be climate change, it could be that microplastics lower their autoimmune abilities. It's the omni-crisis. We have SO MANY ways our civilization could die. And with that, most of our species. So, so many. And as one worsens, the other gets more tense. Like Jenga or dominoes. Not the game, but the shitty pizza chain (cheap shot, I know). I mean PFAs, microplastics, nano plastics, temperature and climate change, rising sea levels, acidification, the mental damages due to additional CO2 and heat, any one of these could take down civilization, and I know I'm missing some, like the rising threat of fascism. But all of these issues are coming up all at once, and many of them are interwined. But almost all of them tie back to the industrial revolution.

  • Apologize. Years ago I drunkenly made an inappropriate comment to a friend who actually was into me, while grabbing her butt. I've apologized a thousand times and felt horrible about it and still do to this day. I've apologized a thousand times and will feel bad for the rest of my life, despite her repeatedly saying it's ok. It's just something you live with and you don't get reprieve from. You apologize and let them move on while you hold onto that. Even if they absolve you of it, you hold onto it because you deserve it. I don't deserve to forget that even if she liked it, I didnt know that at the time, and deserve to feel bad about it forever. That keeps me from doing that ever again. I deserve that shame and need to hold onto it to remind me that it's not ok, and that that's some serious bullshit and that it hurts not just her, but my own conscience.

  • Fallout is pretty good. I appreciate that they have DLC directly from Bethesda, as well as the openly approved mods and the ability and openess to allow bigger mods that expand the game. There's a lot of reasonable hate for Bethesda and their timeframe, but they're pretty good on allowing mods that are essentially amateur DLC. I just wish we had an update to really make the series new.

  • But in this case, I'm for it.

  • Scientists have already proved that and are worried about volcanoes in Greenland and Antarctica.

  • Yes, but also... Yes.

  • Or a Frankensteins monster to terrorize the rest of your friends.

  • Or a large wall with cannons and machine guns to keep out any trucks with flags on them.

  • I just read an article about his social circles moving again out of Texas saying that Texas sucked shit compared to LA or New York.

  • Yeah I get walked over in conversations specifically because I 100% stop talking when someone else is, even when they're the ones interrupting... Until I hit a breaking point and snap on them or walk away and then somehow I'M the bad one. I don't do this with my son, I just disassociate, and I know that's not good for him either, I just don't know what to do when it comes to conversations with him. Although usually it's him just talking at me.

  • It'll come for everyone, governments left and right are going to start falling soon and it'll be too late to replace it with a working system. People from the right and left are worried about a new world order but even a significant shift to the left won't stop what's coming. We desperately need a new world order if we're going to fix it. But it won't happen, just chaos, war and weather deaths. It'd be great if there was a god to step in and save us. Civilization is already doomed, but the longer we go, the more likely it becomes that humanity is also doomed.

  • Ohhhh ok, my bad. I must've misread some of that after being grossed out by the whole religious bullshit being a part of it.

  • Only the egg. And that egg went in a different mother, and was inseminated by a different father. I'm not a biologist but I feel like the mother who bore the baby also contributed some amount of DNA. It's like when someone gets a heart or liver transplant, they often change their personality a bit. I read about a guy who got a heart transplant from a guy who died rock climbing, and suddenly got big into fitness, art and his taste in music changed.

  • Id appreciate that just so I wouldn't have to stick around and wait for the check, then come back for my card, then come back with the slip. I hate that part. I've already been sitting there for 30-45 mins, let me go.

  • There's a lot of heavy lifting by a lot of words in there. Saying the baby has a "biological sister" is at best a half truth and more like a total falsehood. I have a half sister out there somewhere that was adopted away that I've never met. And that's far more close than this scenario.

  • Austin powers

  • I've pulled things from drains more appealing.
