They're covered in dragon ball stickers, drawn on, stained with various foods and drinks... over all I was not very respectful of my books when I was 7 xD The internet fame would be nice though!     Well, I'm setting a calendar reminder for every day I'll be in Washington this December to hit the storage unit on the way back. Gotta grab my old laptop and external hard drive anyway so why not!

  • I'll see if I can track her down. She moved to the UK for university about 6 years ago, but I doubt she brought all her childhood stuff with her(her whole family is still in southern California). My stuff is in storage near Washington at the moment, but I should be going up there before December to nab some stuff.

  • I legit still have my books from when I was a kid. Berenstien. My friend also has their books from when they were a kid. Berenstain. We argued about it off and on for like a decade before we finally settled it. We only have one book in common, a halloween one, but other than that we have no idea what happened. They were printed in different years, but why would that matter??? IDK, it is a mystery.

The image literally has a grouping of data points conveying a narrative; that's statistics. A collection of quantitative data. Just because its bad statistics doesn't mean it isn't.

  • I feel like I covered my bases with the rest of my comment there. If you have thousands of photos that you want to share, host them on your server and whitelist the people you want to see them :/

    IRL I've never sent nor received more than a handful of pics at a time, and always through email. It would have never occurred to me that people are out there sending the whole family collection to each other digitally. Grandma hordes those pics for a reason; as leverage for people to visit her!

    But really? You don't have to make your servers public facing, you just white-list the people you want to see your stuff and make sure to organize your drives with public and private pages.

    He went through all that and didn't take it far enough.

That's how fiction works xD That's like condemning all fiction literature because the people in the stories were forced into horrible situations for the sake of the plot.

  • The masses don't know how to search for information anymore. Not only that, but they are unable to do so with the disparity of their understanding of the search engines and the current state of search engines. People are used to being fed information through an algorithm, and those who control the algorithm aren't about to promote a competitor that'd take away their money.

  • Fair, and yes, though we tend to censor ourselves when referencing known slurs in this day and age. You won't find me casually dropping Ns or old cigs while talking about those slurs, and I doubt you would either.

  • I will concede and do some research.

    For whatever reason I was under the impression that a word had to reference a specific group to be a slur. Like, anyone can be a slut. Man, woman, trans, black, white, et cetera. Like, who is "slut" targeting? Sexually active people? I know that it is weaponized against women, usually those who are NOT actively engaging in promiscuous activities, but I haven't exactly come across many slurs that can be used against multiple groups.

    Perhaps the root of my understanding of what makes a slur itself is the issue. Like I said I'm going to do some research. As a known slut, I apologize to any who came across my comment and were offended.

  • Hormones are one helluva drug xD I hope you're doing well now. As a someone who was sexually assaulted a few times growing up, I know that it can be difficult to shake.

    In all seriousness, that must have been super uncomfortable. Its crazy how social pressures inform our perspective. I had the same thing happen to me, but I was raised as a dude. I was ecstatic that girls were into me, and was happy for the attention. It wasn't until I was older that I realized how absolutely fucked it was that girls waaaay older than me were sending me nudes, and girls younger than me who didn't even know my name yet were doing the same. Somehow I never sent a single pic, unless it was my cat. I loved my cat.
