  • Bullseye BBQ sauce goes great with eggs and peppers.

  • Has anyone told the snoozer-in-chief how much of the US' debt is held by NATO nations?

  • I am very much of the opinion that ICE whistles should sound like those Aztec Death Whistles.

  • Only if they can make it real dystopian, like Tabula Ra$a.

  • Yep

    Jump
  • I've maintained a very tight policy of "Don't fix your uncles printer". When pushed into a corner, my go-to is "I'll bring an external drive, we can pull off all your photos and we can install Linux.".

Every family member who only uses Facebook/email has been very happy with a Mint install with ad blockers.

  • These laws only mean something if they are enforced.

  • The Zorg ZF-1!

That, or glow blue when a cop is near...

  • Then men would have no reason to leave without washing their hands. Seriously dudes, I'm pleading over here, soap and water.

  • I've had a couple of people suggest they were going to dualboot and I often suggest against it. Logging in and out is more of a deterrent than people realize.

The only instance where I think it would be effective is if you work with MS software, in that case you can get away with having a work OS and a home OS.

  • IMO, the hardest part of moving over is relearning a bunch of things you've taken for granted. However, Windows has been changing and breaking things at such a rapid pace, that not even my friends who still use it can keep track.

  • I've been on Linux since 2016, and I'm honestly useless at Windows Administration now.

It's not just that, but a lot of software feels awful to use. It feels like when Cable stations would just start airing Infomercials (maybe they still do) late at night, trying to sell you things you don't need. Using modern software unfiltered is an onslaught of advertising, and pressure. It's not fun.

  • Man I was so stoked during the kickstarter. No suits controlling Chris Roberts, crowd funded, open development of an epic space game.

Now, I'm pretty sure I won't even have time to play it by the time it's released. They got my $45 a long time ago, and I've spent more time on SC than a lot of $45 games, but...yeah, I'm not excited about it anymore.

  • Alternative headline: "American government unable to control Canadian media sources" .

  • This is a really upsetting thing.

I grew up with "not everything on the internet is real" but it seems all the people that told me this forgot it.

I was promised access to the whole of human knowledge, but everyone ignores it because we've been trained not to read critically.

  • I've been using Linux for my primary gaming machine since 2016, and I'm amazed at how fast I was up and running in Bazzite.

In 20 minutes I installed the OS, pointed it to my steam drives, and had Expedition 33 running with an Xbox Controller over Bluetooth.

  • Is that Dean Kamen in the last picture??? That might be the most upsetting thing I've seen in a long time...

  • Can I ssh into a server and not lose all productivity yet? Last time I tried ghostty I had to setup separate configs for my servers because they didn't recognize it :/

  • Never trust the last person, especially if the last person was you.

  • It's a shame we don't have those banner ad schemes anymore. Cybersquatting could be a viable income stream if you could convince the cleaners to click banner ads for a faction of a penny each.
