  • I want one thing (besides a11y which is really number one): the save dialogue should be sane. E.g. let me create a new subfolder with Ctrl shift n...

  • Har du læst octavia butler? Jeg syntes earth seed (parable of the sower of parable of the talents) bøgerne of dawn var fede og tankevækkende og elementært spændende. Især med tanke på hvordan racisme og andethed behandles. Dawn er også meget interessant syntes jeg. Især dawn har måske lidt fantasy over sig? Butler har sin helt egen stemme - og er med mit (meget lille) kendskab til sci fi unik.

Way station a clifford simak efter min mening smukt tidsløst, omend alderen måske bliver tydelig til sidst. Der er intet rigtigt fokus på teknologi og den slags. Mere logik, rationale, skønhed og introspektion på sin vis.

Endelig var jeg meget glad for the wind up girl. Miljøkrise i fremtidogt diktatorisk bankog. Fokus på politik og sådan lidt blade runner agtig.

  • I need this. But ffsend + encrypted zip file works most of the time. Or onionshare.

Not sure I see how this helps.

  • What's the verdict on yunohost if we are talking easy? I think so the applications being mentioned has good support on yunohost?

  • Cryptpad (which partly uses onlyoffice), writes about it here: https://forum.cryptpad.org/d/232-onlyoffice-concerns-vendor-makes-shady-moves/4

I think it's an excellent post worth reading. Open Source entails collaborating with the whole world. Any code base is simply to big to audit from the start, but all incremental code can be audited, and you can disable stuff you don't need etc.

For me, the post makes me trust cryptpad more than I did before.

And yes. Cryptpaf = onlyoffice, but still relevant I think

    Edit: spelling of "worth"

  • Where can i find said data? I would think it was i secret.

  • This and shortcut for creating a subfolder doeesnt work in save dialogue.

  • I'll be the one: use rtorrent

  • My wristband snapped... So not completely.

  • Last i looked into it, joplin had a bug which ment syncthing didnt work . Can't remember the details but the solution was pinning an old version.

I am much much happier with markor notes + syncthing.

Super sinple, 100 % foss, sync what you want .

  • Thx. Interesting. But a bit to expensive.

Is there really no watch i can just connect to my pc and transfer data?

On android opentracks, fitotracks etc are great applications.

  • Thx!

  • Yes. But thats not word. Thats something else entirely which atleast my employer would never use (security, long term support, offline, integration with 3rd parties etc)

  • Disagree. E.g. Word typography is not as advanced as LibreOffice. And words document master is buggy as hell.

But yes. Excel can handle big files now. Still sucks at im- and exporting different csv formats...

But... Because it's integrated so we'll with windows, is faster most of the time.

In reality: of course word should be a better program and it does get lots of loving from redmond. Only because: if no new features, no new sales. And since word is mostly a solved problem, redmond invented new problems...

Working with a LO user and a sub par program always beats working with a word user who can't use styles, review, and merge documents.

  • I consider myself long time noob ;)

Fedora for me because it's rock solid, has cutting edge software, excellent documentation.

I,ve been updating the same installation more than 15 times i think.

Against: selinux is often overlooked when following guides written for Debian / ubuntu. So sometimes you pull out your hair.

On the other hand. Podman is supposedly the new favorite kid on the block. Fedora is on the front here
