  • Same here. They also had issues with downtime around same time.

  • Sounds like a weird behavior, are you using Microsoft account for sign-in? Maybe that somehow triggers enabling sync back. Switch to local account if you do not want any benefits MS account gives.

That OneDrive feature is called Known Folder Move and it can be easily disabled. In theory it's a great feature for most, but I dislike it as well.

I have OneDrive disabled and have never seen it restart automatically.

  • Oppossed to me who somehow forgot Copilot is a thing :) Should have realized that.

I have it simply disabled in settings so it does not show up. Maybe it is not completely disabled and some parts of it are still running amd would need to apply policy to disable it, but can't say it bothers me much.

  • Need to save those open tabs somewhere + I don't want 6 windows open if I have 6 categories.

  • Maybe I never learned how to properly use grouping in Vivaldi, but I concluded that Simple tab groups extension is better for my use case. In Vivaldi it seemed too simple to accidentally open new tab in another group. With STG extension I am always locked in 1 group and do not even see tabs from other groups.

  • Are we talking about this feature? If yes, you must simply ask company / school in which that computer is assigned to to remove it from their Autopilot list.

  • Try to create PWA and forget about ever opening Edge. It of course will still run in background, but maybe this will feel better.

  • Changing region probably would be enough and no reset / reinstall is necessary, but we will see.

Doubt your IP location matters because if I am from EU and I travel to USA, MS should guarantee same compliance to EU laws.

  • It is, specifically MS Edge WebView. For example new MS Teams and new Outlook client are using WebView. Widgets are using it as well as do many other things.

This uninstall will most likely still keep Edge present, it will just be somehow hidden / not as easily accessible.

  • I am pretty sure simply setting region should do the trick.

  • What do you mean. Autopilot is an enterprise feature. If you bypass Autopilot you are either circumventing your organization's policy or you bought a computer that was not removed from org properly.

  • I have 1 pair with similar indicators. The end of socks is not symmetrical, they are in a shape of foot to get a perfect fit and if you wear them the other way around they are not as comfortable. Good pair, I like them.

  • Have you tried using letters to differentiate them? I have 1 pair with similar indicators and they are on the same place.

  • For me speed increase is pretty significant. Testing with Ookla's Speedtest I get around 60-100 Mbps download with 4G and around 300 - 500 for 5G so sometimes it's faster that my Wi-Fi which usually is around 300 - 400.

Realistically though I do not feel this difference, 4G seems enough. Do not see significant difference in battery life as well. In the past I think 5G did eat more battery where I am so I stayed on 4G for a long time before trying 5G again.

  • Their maps are pretty bad, there are better alternatives although it can depend on your region. Navigation and POI search wise though they still seem the best to me.

  • Switch to Edge would make sense due to how well it integrates with things like your Entra ID account, choosing Chrome now is bizarre. We also had Chrome as primary browser for years, but now we are pushing Edge as primary browser. Firefox was and still is an option for us as well.

  • It is. Besides some very niche bugs everything in the core of PowerShell seems logical to me and easy to understand.

  • I work pretty frequently with PS and have no issues with syntax. It's easy to read and you always have autocomplete so there is just 1 extra click to get from -r to -Recurse. Same command could be also written as this due to alias feature.

    rm 'C: -r -fo

It's just not the best practice since in PowerShell it is recommended to not use aliases for readability reasons. Also less chance to mess things up due to how verbose all commands and their parameters are.
