    The thing in Florida is encouraging, although that was at the State level rather than Federal. I'm sure there are organizations who are going to oppose this... if this happens it will be irreversible and will effectively ruin western states, and put a huge dent in local economies. This will also hurt the people who don't hike. People come to the western US from all over the world to use our public land.

  • It's so sad! I can't stop crying about it. Hiking is my entire life. I live in Washington and looked at an interactive map of the land they're trying to sell. All of my favorite spots are in danger.

    If you look at the map you'll see how stupid it is... they're cutting everything into tiny pieces so that even the land they don't sell will lose it's recreational value. The PCT will likely be completely ruined because of this. The way they're cutting it up... there's no logic to it. They're doing this to hurt us.
