  • I would be happy with Freeland as PM but I don’t think she could win the next election unfortunately. She’s too linked to Trudeau during a time when people are really looking for change. Carney seems to be the only one people are really rallying behind

    But yeah agreed about Canadians missing Trudeau. I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t have something to say about him (kind of inevitable after a decade in office really) but he’ll be remembered as an amazing PM imo. He was probably the best person to be in charge for the plethora of crises we’ve been through recently

    PP is running for PM but he still doesn’t have a security clearance, even after it came out that there was foreign interference within his own party (he’d need the clearance to get the specifics on the interference). He also seems to be struggling to show any real patriotism in the face of all of Trump’s threats. He pretty much always deflects to “Trudeau bad”

    I don’t believe that he wouldn’t just sell us out to the USA the minute he takes office

  • I think one of the major reasons they wanted to close the free APIs was to prevent data scraping for AI models without paying the big dollars. Of course that also meant users would be limited to the service’s own apps with their own ads so it’s a bit of a win-win for them.

    I’d imagine the only people paying the insane API prices are the AI/ML companies (edit: like google with its Reddit deal)

  • I have three Proxmox nodes named: acid1, freebones, and a partially decommissioned node aptly named pve

    acid1 was named from a sticker I got in a big collection. I was extra sold on the name when I did some research into acid1 tests.

    freebones is from an inside joke from a GPT3.5 bot I terribly finetuned using my friend groups entire chat history. At one point the bot randomly said “algebra: you get free bones” and I kind of just ran with that

  • What I’m saying is that you can have those social programs that you say Europe has and the USA would actually be able to put even more money towards your military. Your current system is wildly less efficient because it’s setup to enrich middlemen (insurance companies).
