If my monsters are imagined, why do they trigger the motion sensor lights?

  • They're German subtitles but they're terrible. Even if it's supposed to be baby-speak.

  • If you haven't seen it yet check out Fune Wo Amu (The Great Passage). That was the first show I thought of after watching Journal with Witch. Also the Working Series by PA.Works.

  • Didn’t know about Wonder Egg Priority, I’ll check it out but the subject matter probably too dark for me though.

Just don't. Or at least don't say afterward that I told you to do it. The show started so incredible good. Up to episode 4 or so I thought that it was an instant classic, and then it crashed harder than Ayrton Senna.

  • Journal with Witch. It's an exceptional josei series so far (after 2 episodes) and if it keeps that level, I would give it at least a 9/10. Would be a 10/10 if I hadn't the rule that there can only be 10 in total of them and I'm not sure if it's good enough to bump another one down to a 9. Let's wait and see how it goes in the end. I thought Wonder Egg Priority was a potential 10/10 as well and we all know how that did go.

  • To me there is just something about good, likable characters going about their daily and mundane lives. It's like how I thoroughly enjoyed "The Aquatope on White Sand" even though it's a show about working in an aquarium. Not exactly something I would come up immediately when I think about what an anime should be about.

The same is true here. A cleaning service is not the most heart-pumping of settings but MC is giving her all to her job and I can't help myself enjoying this a lot more than 90% of the other shows airing this season. I would say give it a try if you liked the PA-Works Working Series.

  • Another great episode.

  • Cute first episode. Since the "getting together" is already out of the way, I hope it will be like Ore Monogatari! and not rely on relationship drama to fill the remaining episodes.

  • Okay, I see what you mean. They don't make the cut to what I consider "fan-serivce" so I was confused what you meant. Personally, I don't see any problem at that level and haven't been distracted from the narrative.

That cleavage picture, for example, is from the POV of the boy and shows why he might be flustered talking with the girl. It's part of the narrative and has a place. It's not just there as eye-candy for the viewer.

    At least that's my take.

  • This was the second series I liked this season. I greatly enjoy those comfy "working adult" type shows. Especially if it stays so drama-free.

  • fanservicey

    when?

  • I wonder if it’s just a child’s idea of an adult thing or her mother’s influence.

I would like to know what type of person her father was. Since the idea of what an adult is supposed to be is mostly informed by a child's parents, I wonder if he was as straight-laced as her mother or if he was a counterbalance to her strict character. But looking at how stuepefied she is seeing Makio and Nana, I expect both her parents were very strict.

  • Exceptional. I didn't expect anything good for my taste this season apart from Frieren, but these 2 episodes so far make me think that this will be my AOTS.

  • sigh...

  • Okay. The stupid setup is out of the way now. The fun can begin. Only problem is that they have spent maybe all of 3 frames in the OP for best girl, so I keep my expectations low.

Check out the LN though. It's good fun.

  • I will take an MC that knows he is hot shit over a bland, boring MC any day.

While I agree in general, I still found this MC to be unlikable. Where are the good rom-com MC's of seasons past? Where are the Ryūjis (toradora), Houtarous(Hyouka), Yuutas (Chu2Koi), Hachimans (oregairu), etc?

  • It's super cute, and Doux is adorable as can be, but the humor doesn't really hit for me. I'm not sure if "adorable" is enough to keep me interested enough to keep watching over the entire season.

  • Fune Wo Amu vibes. Might become a 10/10.

  • I've read a little bit of the manga and I think this is exactly the type of series where KyoAni excels with.

  • That's funny.
