  • The Royal Mint's currency arm loses money, and made losses of £13.1million in 2022/23, up from £4.5million the year before.

Making a loss out of making money! Do you think they have to mint their own overtime?!? /j (GNU Terry Pratchet)

It's effectively a luxury item right, you would have thought that the market for that would have been fine? Unless they are just being undercut too much by foreign manufacturers?

  • Can't they put a lien on the big, solid, not going anywhere asset the landlord happens to have in the country?

  • Recently 'World on Fire's by Dolly Parton.... Which was unexpected

  • Posting to a news article is easy compared with creating content, so you will see a lot more of it.

  • If it overtopped that's a management issue not a construction issue (unless they embezzled the money for a spillway or something)

  • isn't it on an escape trajectory?

  • Generative AI has taken off so much because it works so well out of the box and can be interacted with by anyone.

The examples you gave require training specific to the role it will fulfil - that requires expertise, data and money - and needs to be repeated for every use case!

That has existed, and will continue to exist, but is not something g the average person, or even the average developer sees.

  • You have European elections, maybe the actual governments shouldn't have the power they do?

  • Better than nothing.

If we have to overbuild green energy to get a reliable supply, use the excess on things like this.

It's also has a directly measurable output (...input?) - I would prefer that money was spent on this rather than carbon offsetting, which is basically a scam.

  • Have you got your language set on your account? (Open settings on browser not app) It should auto filter based on that. I see very little non English stuff. (Small instance though)

  • This. I occasionally look at all to look for new stuff though

  • That kind of jigsaw can be much more interesting than normal ones, you discover the image (with clues).

Wasgij do something similar, where the box art shows the reaction to the actual jigsaw image.

  • There is a full play through video from PotatoeMcWhiskey that's good to watch/skip through to get an idea of it.

Look interesting, definitely pulled ideas from lots of places; the ability to form camps outside of cities reminds me of the Civ3 feature for example.

It's on my look at in the next sale list I think.

  • 2M globally, or just per user?

  • Messed up internet to the entire south of Africa, Cloudflare has some graphs showing the effect on different countries. Caused problems for the big cloud providers regions in ZA too.

  • The vertical tab bar is still there though as it's apparently not removable? 😞

  • And AMD or Intel are better? Everyone complains about the drivers.

  • I thought that's what the Pico cells are for - each plane has a mini phone tower in it so phones happily connect to that instead of looking for ground stations

  • I thought depleted uranium was still used in weapons? The uranium itself is probably less than 1% of the total waste unfortunately, think of Fukushima, most of the waste is slightly radioactive water.
