  • According to its Wikipedia page, the last time Dorchester voted for a Democratic Party (presidential) candidate was 1976. That candidate was President Jimmy Carter, who ran against the incumbent Gerald Ford, who in turn had succeeded Nixon in the wake of the Watergate scandal.

  • Remember the fire triangle (fuel, heat, oxygen)? Well, now it's the fire tetrahedron: Fuel, heat, oxygen, chemical reaction. Fun fact: lithium-ion batteries produce all four if they reach a shockingly low temperature (lower than the boiling point of water ;)

  • Seniors don't have [at least some threat of physical violence].

Share that sentiment at your local VFW or AMVETS, and you will learn that propensity is not a prerequisite for proficiency. In fact, those who are most familiar with and capable of violence are usually the same who are most reluctant to employ it.

  • Talk to and listen to people around you. Don't just try to change their minds without first seeing (and convincing them that you see) their point of view. As senseless as this situation seems, people do have their reasons. It's only when we understand what drives each other that we have a basis for cooperation.

  • He actually said this on camera, that he wouldn't be driving it. But then, he said that he hadn't driven in a "long time"...

    I don't think he has a driver's license.

  • Yeah just like thousands of civil servants are "embarrased" of losing their jobs. Just like judges are "embarrased" that the executive branch is ignoring their rulings. Just like millions of Ukrainians are "embarrased" of losing their home. Get over your fucking self... we are at war.
