  • Old articles the deal has been refinanced a few times now. His expose is much lower now. Though yes two years ago this would have been correct.

Thank you for actually taking time to think out a response with relevant sources and not just name calling. This seems to be more rare than it should be. I wish more people were like that.

  • Based on what? That I don't want to burn random people's cars? Yep you got me. Good one dude!

  • No it doesn't that not how it works ugh..

We're in this whole mess because people don't think through their words and actions. Anyone advocating blindly going after anyone with a Tesla then you're really no better then Musk.

On that note do I have the answers on how to fix this mess, no, but I know it's not this.

  • You understand that he only ownes 10 or 15% of Tesla. The majority of that is probably held by index funds and other peoples 401ks. So again normal people would loose a lot of money.

If Tesla went bankrupt it would literally be a drop in the bucket for Musk. Also what would he fear? He can pay for his own boat or literal island and security. Saying people should go after musk vs go after anyone who drives a Tesla is very different.

  • Like what is the end goal here put Tesla out of business? Does anyone believe this would hurt Elon? Say Tesla went bankrupt, so now Elon musk would be worth $230 billion instead of $330 billion. He would live his life exactly the same but now thousands of normal people are underwater on their cars. How is this "winning"?

    What am I missing here?

  • Hahah agreed

  • Hope that's sarcasm because the USMCA was signed and implemented by Trump

  • Sometimes clearing the app data and cache can also help. Not sure if it's the answer here but worth a try.

  • Why is it so hard to believe someone has been to Ukraine? like really? I've also been to Poland many times and have family there. Just FYI Ukraine borders Poland. Not really difficult traveling between the two. You may have never left Russia (I've been there too) but plenty of people travel to other countries this is not a rare thing. I'm sorry if you have not had the opportunity to travel but would highly recommend you do so. I think it would help you a lot.

History is history and you can't change it. Russia is the aggressor here (and in many other places, they have a pretty consistent playbook) it's not really up for debate (though I'm sure you'll continue to try).

  • The fact is that between February and March 2014, unmarked Russian soldiers occupied and blockaded the Simferopol International Airport, most of Ukraine's Crimean military bases, and the Supreme Council of Crimea. The Kremlin stated that no Russian troops were active in the region, but many little green men were operating in this region while disguised as pro-Russian separatists.

After two months of denial, on 17 April 2014, Russian president Vladimir Putin confirmed that the Russian military had been operating in Ukraine.

So by Putin's own account here, sending troops into Ukraine they of course started the war. All of which is conveniently left out of this article. Some great reporting here....

  • I'm not sure how anyone would read that article knowing anything about Ukraine and not immediately realize this article is biased and misleading. It is certainly bending the truth. I think only a stupid person would try and defend it.

P.S. I've personally been to Ukraine and also know people who are currently there. So I'll take my first person account over you or you're purposely misleading article.

  • Here's what you need to know- consortium news in 2016, the website was listed by PropOrNot as a "Russian propaganda outlet," a claim Consortium News strongly disputes, arguing it challenges mainstream narratives and exposes bias in media.

Article really is totally bias towards Russia and leaves out many well documented facts or any facts that would take away from the Russian narrative that Russian is the victim.

Interesting to read for the sole fact it gives you insight into what the Russian propaganda machine is pumping out.

  • When connected through wireguard can you access anything on the local network?

Also sometimes if you're on an LAN trying to vpn into itself you get weird network issues. Does this issue also happen when you're on another network and vpning back?

Also there's a lot of great videos on YouTube to set this up things like Lawrence systems and network Chuck.

Not exactly sure what the issue is here but gave you the up vote for visability and hopefully someone smarter then me will know.

  • As mentioned backblaze is a good resource as they extensively look into this very question. What I've noticed in practice is that all hard drives are pretty reliable these days. If they fail they usually fail early in the first 6 months. Regardless of what you go with always have a back up.

  • Just honestly asking Im not a statistician. From a lay person looking high level this seems weird. The conclusion also does not match up with insurance prices that I've personally seen nor correspond with my experience.

I'm here for discussion not trying to put anyone down. Could someone just explain to me what I'm missing. No need to downvote. So if you take a non random sample of data how can you extrapolate that out so much? Does this data line up with other people's data? What am I missing?

  • I think a lot of people would disagree with you about X. Objectively he bought the company for $44B and now it's worth $9B that's a huge loss. Most people attribute the decline to his "efficiency" measures. Basically losing all the good talent in his company causing a significant decline in users ( because of quality of service). His running of Twitter I think would be a better example of a failure.

That aside hypothetically even if X was doing well - How would the strategy / approach he used in a public company be good for government. These are two very different places?

  • A better question would be do you have any examples of him actually creating efficiencies? I don't mean this in a condescending way but he did do a great job with Tesla but basically no where else. Every time he goes out of his wheelhouse it seems to end in disaster? Honestly I don't follow him but it's impossible not to hear about him. So can you elaborate on what his successes were and how'd that translate into making the government more efficient?

  • There are approximately 250 million cars on the road and they only used data from 8 million? That's 3% of cars on the road to extrapolate into all the cars on the road. Seems like a huge flaw especially since we didn't know how they got that subset. All seems like click bait as most articles related to Tesla are...

Another good way / better way to see what cars are dangerous are insurance rates. Since insurance companies take in way more data than 8M cars when determining rates.

  • That's exactly an instance where this would happen. Since the value of the land itself not what's built on it is valuable in this instance. Look at the value of the land near any ski resort town over the last 10 years.
