Software dev by day and software dev by night. Work life balance achieved by working on separate projects. Currently working on [REDACTED] for work and video game restoration as a hobby.
I also self-host a lot of stuff. That includes a Forgejo instance for my projects and for mirroring projects that should never disappear.

Please leave the rest of North America out of it, we’re so tired of his shit

DrivingBench was about answering this question: can frontier general-purpose LLMs drive a car in the real world?
Uses an empty parking lot and cones to mark a very short and low speed (<3m/s) path to follow.
Astra observed about every 5–6 seconds
Imagine if I opened my eyes once very 5 seconds while driving…
GPT-6 Astra was the only model to fully complete the course (on attempt 2, in about 5 minutes).
They only tried twice, giving it a 50% success rate. They wouldn’t even give me a learner’s permit with that score.
Frontier models have improved to the point where they can drive real vehicles in real life at sufficiently low speeds
A single frontier model succeeded once and failed once. The other models all failed. The conclusion is not supported by their own evidence.
This doesn’t really answer its own question and also is based on a very flawed premise: get a text model to look at a series of images. It’s so reliant on other tools that the LLM isn’t really relevant other than to coordinate, which they all also basically fail at.

It’s a good idea in theory but I suspect they’ll claim that they’re never done with submitted IDs. To effectively verify IDs you need to prevent two different people from submitting the same ID. To do that, you need to store all previously submitted (unique) IDs. That use case should be made illegal, of course, but it isn’t yet.

Bad link?
It’s basically true. Animal agriculture (land use, resource use, and pollution to create animal products) is a major source of pollution which competes with transportation for the biggest source of global warming.
Unfortunately the more nuanced take is that it’s not a single thing; it’s a series of choices that eventually become habit. But so is not owning a car.
I think technically the single most impactful thing you can do is to remove major polluters from the planet (though in many cases that is illegal so, in case cops are watching, I’m certainly not recommending that).

For anyone who is struggling to figure out how to delete their DigitalOcean account (it’s not obvious):

If a spychip is not a chip that spies on you
I didn’t say that
then your words are meaningless. English is obviously not your first language. My words put through whatever translation tool you are using may be meaningless. Find a better translator.
No, you just edited your comment after I replied. But if you’re going to start attacking me instead of the argument, then this discussion is already a waste of time. Hope you have better luck finding a spychip-free CPU somewhere else

If a spychip is not a chip that spies on you then your words are meaningless. But then you say a spychip is a chip that enables spying, which is literally equivalent to a chip that spies on you. Please pick a definition and stick with it.

That’s not what “spychip” means though. Spychip implies it’s spying on you, not just running closed source code (that you can dump, btw). And without the PSP, AMD processors would not necessarily be more secure, the vulnerabilities would just be moved elsewhere; secure VMs, memory encryption, secure boot, etc. would not be possible.

OK, I’ll bite. What spychip?

Primarily because APU is an AMD marketing term. The announcement is correct in calling it a SoC, I just used CPU because the focus was on CPU and peripheral support. GPU is usable, just not fully working, and the NPU support is rough at best. I’m not sure if there’s any other notable accelerators on the chip.

So this guy doesn’t treat you like you want, doesn’t make time for you, makes every conversation about him, won’t change, and isn’t even your boyfriend? I think you already know what you should do, because you haven’t even listed any good qualities of this guy. Move on, this guy isn’t even a good friend to you.

Canadian* Bank Note does get feedback from Bank of Canada on designs so I’d say it was a group effort. It’s strange that Bank of Canada likes taking all of the credit though.
I’m actually curious who specifically was the lead designer for this one, since Jorge Peral (who has designed all bank notes in recent history) retired before this note was released. I presume he had his hand in it, but how big was his role?

Israel will be participating in this Eurovision so it would be better if we didn’t send anyone

Your original comment was such a non-sequitor that I thought it necessary to clarify. Because an exchange that is roughly summarised as
“I don’t want Android [or Google]”
“OK, use Android [on a Google phone]”
Does not really make much sense without additional context. Thanks for adding that context.

GrapheneOS is Android

Please don’t fuck Elon Musk, he’s already got too many kids :P (and already mistreats some of them)

San Diego is indeed warm and people like wearing crop tops but you don’t need to call out all the exposed navels like that.
